+Jamisjockey
What's the most remote and hard to access cache you know of? Quote Link to comment
+Team Dubbin
Well there is one at the bottom of the ocean and there are one or two in Antarctica. I would call those pretty remote. Edited February 9, 2007 by Team Dubbin Quote Link to comment
+gh patriot
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...6b-0d14cd87f55c I haven't found many and only within 30 miles from home but here it is so far. Quote Link to comment
+duhgee
There are 3 up in Nunavut, Canada that get my vote - GC5803 - As North as it Gets, GCXAF5 and GCX4P7 (not yet found). There are others in the desert that might qualify. Google Earth is fantastic for browsing these... just fly around in the act of virtually geocaching. Quote Link to comment
+Cog&Gil
Most remote? How about Pitcairn Many more ships visit Antarctica than this island. Quote Link to comment
+Team Dubbin
How does one on Mt Everest sound? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...=y&decrypt= LOL look at the first log of the cache. Me thinks someone is full of crapola I don't think very many people are going to take the "family" on a Sunday afternoon hunt at almost 25000 feet... +StarBrand
Sticking to the lower 48 - I know of one in Wyoming that requires about 50 miles round trip of hiking to get to - trying to find it now. Quote Link to comment
+GrizzlyJohn
How does one on Mt Everest sound?http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...=y&decrypt= I am surprised to not see any of the usual suspects who like to complain about people not following the rules. This cache contains a lighter and storm matches. You know some kid could head on up Everest find this cache with a lighter in it and start all kinds of trouble. I guess they are all hiding out under bridges. Edited February 12, 2007 by GrizzlyJohn Quote Link to comment
Mr.Yuck
Most remote? How about Pitcairn Many more ships visit Antarctica than this island. Awesome! 45 people live on this island!! It's right on the top of my "to do" list. I'll never get there, but it's on the list. That influenced me to surf Polynesia via google earth, and This cache, on Easter Island, claims to be the most remote on earth, in it's cache description. Which it may have been, in 2002, but not any more, I'm sure. Quote Link to comment
+BVPete
Well, this one is not all that remote in the bush of NW Ontario, but it was hidden on May 5 / 06 and still awaits a FTF. It is at the confluence of N50° 00.000’ W93° 00.000’ and its’ ID is Fifty Ninety-three (GCVXEH) owned by Mikego. Winter would be the ideal time to find it. Quote Link to comment

Im planning a cache for my mum to place on Pitcairn, and on Henderson Island, she can maintain it for me since she lives there, at least the one on Pitcairn anyway Quote Link to comment

Amazing, your Mum is one of the 45 residents? Looks like the other cache there has been archived. Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
Bird cave, Ascension island and Jacob's Ladder on St Helena are both nicely remote. MrsB Quote Link to comment
+wildchld97
I guess the farthest geocache that I can think of is the International Space Station. I don't think I'll be able to hunt that one any time soon. Quote Link to comment
+dfx
Judging by its age and the number of finds (heh), it would be http://coord.info/GCDFB Quote Link to comment
