Globetrotter.uk
I was just wondering what free fun stuff there is available for a palm pda. Apart from cachemate what else is there for the geocacher on the move. Quote Link to comment
Just Roger
After cachemate and its etceteras, my vote goes to The Royals Coordinate Calculator for Multis. Unfortunately i seem to have lost the link but hopefully the Royals might see this and post it. Quote Link to comment
Zetetic
Not all strictly geocaching related but the ones that have earned their keep on my Clie are, Mimee - coordinate converter tool. Tide Tool - very useful for those tidal island caches. Sudoku - type in that pesky puzzle cache and autosolve! FuelCalc - bit scary this one, find out how much your caching trips really cost . Only trouble is I can't remember any links for these but if anyone wants them just send me an email and I'll send the .prc files in a zip. Quote Link to comment
NightPilot
http://www.frewarepalm.com http://www.palmgear.com http://www.handango.com And dozens of other sites. There are literally thousands of programs out there, some free, some not, and they do pretty much everything you can think of, plus lots more you would never even suspect. A Palm is a general-purpose computer, just as your PC is; it just has a different operating system. My T3 has a faster, more powerful processor, and more memory, than my last PC had. +Sue and Bernie
My most valued non-geogeeking programme on the old Palm I used to use was "Re-Do". It posted "To-Do" re-occurring tasks into the To-Do list. It had a super flexible options menu that enabled you to select any weird combination. Great for all those MOT reminders, Insurance prompts, whatever... Quote Link to comment
weston wanderer
I don't use any caching related software other than cachemate but I think my most useful program is Handy Shopper (free). It is a user-friendly database which enables me to organise my life into lists. I use it for shopping lists, just click each item when you go round the supermarket and it drops to the bottom, crossed out, training prgramme for the gym, birthdays, you name it, it organises it. For fun, i have a load of word games. My current favourite is Wordwatch from Palmgear which keeps me entertained whenever I have a spare moment. I loive my Palm! Quote Link to comment
Grizzly Pair
GeoNiche and EasyNiche from : http://www.raydarllc.com/index.html If you have a Palm with Bluetooth, get a small Bluetooth GPS unit and then get this software, there is a small once-off charge. It gives your palm a display like an Etrex and many other facilities. Quote Link to comment
choccymandm
Any astronomers out there? Planetarium We're no star gazers but this is handy for those times when you wonder what it is that you are looking at up there!! Quote Link to comment
Bill D (wwh)
RiseSet for sunrise, sunset and twilight times. It's just the thing for those winter afternoon caches when you're wondering if you're going to make it back to the car in daylight! It also gives moon info too. Quote Link to comment
