+ZoomLens
Looking on the US forums, there are mentions of "Evil Caches" - Like many of you, I am tiring of the straight micro and I can't always be doing with multis (depending on how lazy I feel) and would really like to find an evil cache that you sort out in the field, rather than finding the answer in a puzzle somewhere. I'm looking at planting some myself, but wondered if anyone knew of any "Evil" caches in the UK (particularly the midlands). Thanks ZoomLens Quote Link to comment
SNAKEBITER
What would you define as "Evil"? Quote Link to comment
+Happy Humphrey
This one is probably the type of thing you're after: haven't done it yet, but read all the logs. There are a few around Manchester too (L!zzardpower, for instance). A few exist here on the IOM too (something to do with that Humphrey bloke). Quote Link to comment
+dogastus
The two "Enigma Variations" caches by The Hole In The Wall gang require a lot of problem solving while in the field. Quote Link to comment
+ZoomLens
What would you define as "Evil"? Something that looks easy on the cache page, but on arriving at the cache location is much, much harder than you expected. A sort of needle in a haystack scenario, or with a red herring etc etc etc... Quote Link to comment
+Happy Humphrey
Some Pieman caches in Cheshire fit the bill - recommended! Quote Link to comment
+The Great Redmondo
I particularly intended this cache of mine to be evil and some of the logs have even said that. Quote Link to comment
+mumbo jumbo
Many weather beaten cachers have failed to find what theMaiden in Distress has lost. It's definitely a "puzzle in the field" type cache but nobody's described it as evil yet as far as I can remember. You've done it ZL, what do you think?! Quote Link to comment
+Archer4
Some Pieman caches in Cheshire fit the bill - recommended! I'd definitely agree - if you're after evil in the field then the above are well worth a trip up the M6. BC Inu is responsible for a superb Multi Evil in the same sort of area and aRRKS are responsible for some seriously sneaky hiding Quote Link to comment

I'll happily describe it as evil, and will keep doing so every time I go to Birmingham until inspiration strikes. Quote Link to comment
+ZoomLens
Many weather beaten cachers have failed to find what theMaiden in Distress has lost. It's definitely a "puzzle in the field" type cache but nobody's described it as evil yet as far as I can remember. You've done it ZL, what do you think?! Hmmm... Evil.... I wouldn't call it Evil, but just very difficult. By Evil I mean something that you get there and start cursing, not because of the difficulty but because of something the cache placer has done. An example of one in the States is where you were told that the coordinates for the final were at the first part. Easy? No! The coordinates were split in to six parts, each of which was engraved on to a marble. The ammo box was then filled with marbles, so you had to search through hundreds to find the right ones. That's an EVIL cache! Another potentially evil one around here is Cut Down Cache - which is evil if you go straight to the location without thinking about it first. +Bud Lightbeer
This one of ours seems to have generated some emotion and is pretty evil I must confess: We Hate Micro's Please don't hurt me Quote Link to comment
+Pieman
Some Pieman caches in Cheshire fit the bill - recommended! Pieman is an evil, evil man!!! Thanks, Hazel.. I think . Although a few of my caches have puzzles to solve on the hoof, I think only That's Magic- Smile or Scowl would fit the evil bill on the basis that I still get a lot of laughs when I read the abuse in the logbook. . I would count Cut Down Cache as clever rather than evil myself (even though on two goes I haven't found it- second time due to special equipment failure ). The only cache I can remember actually swearing at when I found it was Incoming Transatlantic Flights. Now that was evil, Phil. Quote Link to comment
+The Bolas Heathens
Our favourite cache on the Wirral - ERIK BRUNO's confused Hexahedron - would fit the bill as evil as defined above. Absolutely brilliant Quote Link to comment
SNAKEBITER
You want evil? Well have a look at "The answer to the question is the key?". Poohtiggs is an evil man and to be honest is off my Christmas card list It is driving me mad. The "Oh it's only a mile from work, I'll pop over in my lunch break" has sadly escalated into my lifes work. Curse you Bob and your evil ways. Quote Link to comment

I might have to come up and try yours at some point, although I'll have to set some time aside!!! ZL Quote Link to comment

+chizu
Yobbies? is the most evil cache I've so far come across. Quote Link to comment
+Jango & Boba Fett
We can recommend Don't Get Lost In Your Own Museum GCGAYP which has to be worked out in the field. In fact we know of several others including one in Swaffham, Norfolk which we are told are evil, we however feel that they are merely playful. Quote Link to comment
