I'm a bit embrassed to note that only a bit over a third of my total finds are in my home state.

I'm in 3rd place so far and i too have the ocean only 10 miles from me so it's mostly east of me for the over 6,000 caches

Seven. One is mine and of the other six, one is at an abandoned Walmrt. Fortunately, within 15 miles are the best two dadgum caches within 50+ miles.

245 from College Station TX. Houston is only 96 miles south east of here and Austin is 107 miles west of here... Austin has 1526 and Houston has 2031. We tend to make trips out to the state parks for caching events... especially as we've very nearly found all of those in our town. Only 22 left to find within 15 miles... With the cooler fall weather approaching (or so they say) weekend camping trips and caching will soon begin and we already have several state parks pegged for trips. We can't wait for that to happen!

 

My mom, up in rural Kansas, has only 99 within 50 miles... Enough to keep her occupied for a while, but it does show that caching is an easier to participate in hobby in more urban areas!

In 50 miles, a whopping 24 caches of which 9 are mine.

2 of the newest ones remain unfound because of high gas prices and at 43 cromes, I'm looking at about a 150 mile round trip.

Wow, from reading all the responses, I thought the tampa bay area was pretty cache saturated, but now I see that it is around the middle, some areas have extremely low numbers, some extremely high.

 

I just need to get cracking and find more

Only 1664 within 50 miles, but if I go another 50 miles east, west or south, I hit other dense areas.

Only 628 left to find though after removing my hides and finds.

Just checked and there are 4607 within 50 miles of my home... Since I live smack dab between SF and Sacramento, that spans quite a bit of terrain....quite a bit of that is water!

354. That is also how many are on Oahu, HI. Viewing a list from the center of Oahu the caches stop just before 30mi and then don't start again until just after 50mi.
