+team fuzzybunny
Well I just recieved my tracking number from UPS for my new Garmin 60CSx. Delivery date is 1-20-06 and I just wanted to let people who are interested know that there are places online that are selling them for under the $499.00 price Garmin has set. I will gladly give out the info but, and I'm sorry if this sounds bad, only after I recieve the unit and check the credit card for the price they charged. I just don't want to give out false info as I have seen how many people on these forums have been ridiculed for giving false info in the past. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Congratulations! We would like a full review no later than midnight January 21st! Quote Link to comment
+team fuzzybunny
No problem Neo Geo! I live in michigan and UPS said the unit was already in Philly so the delivery should be on time. I plan on giving the new Garmin a good workout on the 20th and will post results that night. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Looks like I win THE POOL! All forum members please contribute $1.00 prize money so I can buy one of these units. Any excess funds will go towards 512MB TransFlash memory cards for the unit. You can P.M. or email me for instructions on where to send the funds. Quote Link to comment
+mlk3454
Well done Neo. I am also interested to see how this works out as I have a CSx on order as well. Quote Link to comment
+Timpat
My 60CX has been shipped, I have my UPS tracking number, and since it's traveling via mule train from Utah to upstate NY, I won't have it in hand till the 25th the brown team says. Can't wait to play with it. Quote Link to comment
+team fuzzybunny
Well good news the credit card was charged the correct amount and the unit has now left Philly hopefully arriving at my house tomorrow. The new Garmin 60CSx cost me $408.73 with $10.50 2nd day air. I guess now all I have to do is get the unit to make sure they really sent a 60csx. Quote Link to comment

OttoLund
What's the size of the internal memory in 60CSx. Is it 56mb (64mb chip) as in the 60CS? (Internal memory, not MicroSD card) Edited January 19, 2006 by OttoLund Quote Link to comment

+team fuzzybunny
Please post any feedback on this topic. I have recieved a few e-mails wondering where I got the Garmin from does anyone think its a problem to give the info out on this forum because the price was so low? Quote Link to comment
+machster
I will post that the prices I found ranged from $387.49 at www.getfeetwet.com for the cx and $428.00 for the csx. I also went to lakepowellmarine.com and got similar prices..the problem is 3-4 week delivery. I guess I can wait..but it would be sweet to find a faster means without the $$$. As I was writing this..I got an e-mail from a company... 425..and will ship today. Hopefully I will hear from fuzzy! Quote Link to comment

It took 40 secs for them to lock on and give a position. I have one problem with the unit however... for some reason I get full signal strength bars for sats 7 and WAAS 35 but they will not lock on, they just keep blinking. I let the unit sit for 40 mins and still no lock. The funny thing is that the other bars all show the 'D' meaning WAAS lock.... I'm on hold with Garmin right now... Quote Link to comment
+rdb3141
I received mine yesterday from tvnav, along with a 512mb extra card. It is VERY sensitive. I live on the second floor of a 6 story apartment building, with very limited exposures. It got a lock, picking up between 4 and 6 satellites, and kept it. Outside (in DC area, urban but not canyonlike), it got bars for everything in the sky, with filled in bars for 9-12 of them all the time, with some shifting of sats as I walked. Also would stay locked near my parking brake in the car. I can't wait to try it in the woods. Haven't gotten detailed maps yet other than Topo, but I can see it's going to hold a huge area. I'm happy! Quote Link to comment

+azspecter
So, which map software do I need to order? I see the 'GARMIN MapSource MetroGuide North America v6 CD-ROM' for $80, is that the right one? I know there's a ver7 coming out- or is there a newer/better software I need to order from somewhere? Thanks Quote Link to comment
+machster
Well.. I think Phil might have sold out. He went back to the $499 price. I bet if people e-mailed him, he might help them out! Quote Link to comment

+whitecrow
So, which map software do I need to order? DO NOT buy Metroguide if you want autorouting. Buy City Select or City Navigator Quote Link to comment
+azspecter
AHHHH- Whew! I almost bought that! Yes, I need auto routing. Can you tell me the difference between City Select and City Navigator? Quote Link to comment
+mlk3454
City Select is being discontinued so just go with City Navigator. Quote Link to comment
+Quoddy
I thought I'd be using my 60cs until it turned to dust (loved that unit), but along came the "x", and I've now that coming Monday. Nice already having ALL the accessories when it arrives. My trusty (bare) 60cs is already sold. Quote Link to comment
+Great Scott!
I'll be using my 76CS until it turns to dust. Maybe by then the prices for the x models will have come down. (or something newer and better comes along) Edited January 20, 2006 by Great Scott! Quote Link to comment
+ICHTHYS
So, did you get the right one? Quote Link to comment
+BWidget
I did my own price research for this before I even read this thread, and I also got it from Prosourcegps for $408 and change. And yes their price went up right after I bought it. Guess I was one of the lucky ones. Quote Link to comment
+team fuzzybunny
Yes I did receive the 60csx unfortunately though I had to send it back because after just 3 days the menu and other buttons stopped working. Prosource is taking care of the problem as we type And I will have the new unit back soon. Quote Link to comment
