Thinking about it, I so want to put a cache on Sealand, it would rule.

You would have to get onto it first.

I don't see any bushes or rocks to hide the cache under though?

I bet everyone thought the Vatican was the smallest country in the world.

As featured on Danny Wallace's 'How to start your own Country' series on the BBC.

Perfect place for a magnetic micro in the guise of a rusty bolt, I'd say. :o

After reading this I'm glad I lump everthing under "UK" and call the regions by name. I loved the comment about how some people feel Scottish, English etc, but not UKish. That summed it up.

It also explains why so many Americans are bad at geography. They couldn't figure it out there, so they came over here.

....(Later, much later...)

Is this thread still flapping in the wind? :P

You folks who are really good at the computer graphics thingies...Why don't you go and start a thread on a good original design for a Geocaching flag?

...I would try, but I think I'm going to bed :o;) Mrs B

As a Welsh man I'd like to add that according to my British passport I am a resident of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland!

Also...that although Wales is a Principality it still is in fact a country also!! :-)

Only posted this to see if my new profile worked.

Cheers.

Ps we're all just citizens of the world!

I say the same thing about women...

All women are beautiful....but some are more beautiful than others.

I think this is a bastardisation of a quote from a certain pig called Napolean who bastardised it from a quote by a certain Marx brother?!? But I prefer mine!

Hang on a minute!

One thing everyone has forgotten up till now is:

Language!

Yes!

Just think how many languages the UK uses! (I mean national ones, not the imported type!)

Perhaps we should be using the reginal names like, Gaelic, Manx, Cornish etc!

Now you say Cornish - which version of Cornish are we talking about - I think at the last count theres 3. I'm really no expert, but yep I'm friendly with a Bard.. not The Bard - A Bard....

And I think you forgot Welsh.

Cornish and Welsh are very closely related (so I'm told by a Welsh speaker). I don't speak either....but my Dad was a Bard. Mrs B

I like to think I am well informed about local history, but Surrey's Cornish connections were a big surprise. Even without the memorial the location is well worth a visit with fantastic views.
