+blindleader
Seems strange that a game less than four years old should have cliches already. Feel free to add your own nominations to the categories below or to add your own categories. I'll start out by trying to cherry pick some of the oldest. Journalism: High-tech treasure hunt Encrypted Hints: Don't get stumped Hides: Any large rottten stump in the Pacific Northwest (see hints) Upandcoming cliche hides: Fake rocks. Lame puzzle steps: variations on "Subtract 1138 from the date on the plaque and fill in the blanks" Not so unique cache names: Anything containing the phrase "road to nowhere" (14 of them at this writing) I'm not sure where it fits in, but there must be a category for the parallel sticks rule. +rusty_tlc
From log entries: "Nice spot for a cache!" From cache page: A hint with some variation of,"It's in the rocks." (Since 90% of the state is covered with rock piles this is a particularly helpfull hint, not!) Main Entry: cli·ché Variant(s): also cli·che /klE-'shA, 'klE-", kli-'/ Function: noun Etymology: French, literally, printer's stereotype, from past participle of clicher to stereotype, of imitative origin Date: 1892 1 : a trite phrase or expression; also : the idea expressed by it 2 : a hackneyed theme, characterization, or situation 3 : something (as a menu item) that has become overly familiar or commonplace - cliché adjective Quote Link to comment
+Bloencustoms
It's almost as if cachers have developed their own language. Everything gets prefixed with "geo". Quote Link to comment

Hides: Green Decon container hung in a Cedar (often erroneously called a pine on the page or in the logs) and the ever popular pile o' barkoflauge Not so unique cache names: Walk in the Park (78 records) Quote Link to comment
+Gazza&Girls
Unnatural Piles Markwell (my first) Although to follow the barkoflage, why not stickoflage? G Quote Link to comment
