rm17
Anybody know a web site where you can get satellite images of CANADA? Can't seem to find any... Quote Link to comment
Jamethiel
You could try http://geoengine.nima.mil An American satellite imagery site. -Jamethiel Quote Link to comment
+brad.32
The Canadian Center for Remote Sensing has a bit under their imagery and sensors pages, http://www.ccrs.nrcan.gc.ca, but they also have a link to GeoGratis, http://geogratis.cgdi.gc.ca. They have vector and raster data, though they don't seem to have any satellite imagery that is high spatial resolution. Quote Link to comment
+Breezeway
You could try this site. http://members.shaw.ca/davepatton/maps.html He is selling 4 CDs of nasa satellite imagery of Canada. I think he is charging $50C for materials, his time and shipping. I believe they are calibrated for Oziexplorer. BreezeWay Quote Link to comment

+canadazuuk
This was circulating on chain e-mail last weekend. ------- Courtesy of Rick Mercer from This Hour Has 22 Minutes CBC Television: On behalf of Canadians everywhere I'd like to offer an apology to the United States of America. We haven't been getting along very well recently and for that, I am truly sorry. I'm sorry we called George Bush a moron. He is a moron but, it wasn't nice of us to point it out. If it's any consolation, the fact that he's a moron shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of America. After all it's not like you actually elected him. I'm sorry about our softwood lumber. Just because we have more trees than you doesn't give us the right to sell you lumber that's cheaper and better than your own. I'm sorry we beat you in Olympic hockey. In our defense I guess our excuse would be that our team was much, much, much, much better than yours. I'm sorry we burnt down your white house during the war of 1812. I notice you've rebuilt it! It's Very Nice. I'm sorry about your beer. I know we had nothing to do with your beer but, we Feel your Pain. I'm sorry about our waffling on Iraq. I mean, when you're going up against a crazed dictator, you wanna have your friends by your side. I realize it took more than two years before you guys pitched in against Hitler, but that was different. Everyone knew he had weapons. And finally on behalf of all Canadians, I'm sorry that we're constantly apologizing for things in a passive-aggressive way which is really a thinly veiled criticism. I sincerely hope that you're not upset over this. We've seen what you do to countries you get upset with. Thank you. ------- MY TRIPLE THICK FLAME PROOF SUIT IS ON! +infosponge
No offense was meant towards our friends to the North. (Hey, my in-laws are from NB) A long time ago there was some article in the Wall Street Journal interviewing some Canadian government minister of somethingorother. I can't remember the context, but he was bragging that some new piece of equipment (some ship or something) was "pretty good by Canadian standards." and lo an behold it just sounded REALLY funny and it became the standard running joke around our office for many months: someone: "That was a good lunch." someone else: "...by Canadian standards." someone: "We fixed all the critical bugs." someone else: "...by Canadian standards." You get the idea. I guess it should probably be just "...by Newfie standards". quote:Originally posted by infosponge:That's pretty good resolution by Canadian standards! http://www.tampabaygeocaching.com http://www.tampabaygeocaching.com Quote Link to comment

This is beginning to be a little pet peeve of mine. So what if some 'one' is offended? You can't please everybody. I'm old enough to remember the magazine 'The National Lampoon' and I always said that I don't care how open-minded you were, something in that magazine was going to offend you! You don't have the right 'not to be offended'. "The hardest thing to find is something that's not there!" Quote Link to comment

And in the For-What-It's-Worth Department... our friends from Canada seem to prefer to buy the cheapest swill they can find when they are in our neck of the woods. I don't know if that says more about the state of the Canadian Dollar, or our friends... Ron/yumitori Quote Link to comment
