+Fisher513
So about a month ago I took my cousin and her husband caching on and old road by an abandoned nursing home(http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC2GXY3_quid-pro-quo?guid=9ae7cc1d-8fc0-42d6-8990-8212b885289d). When we got down to the end of the road we were greeted by a blood stained mattress and other dumped trash, we joked about it when looking for stage one of the cache and then when we found the final in an old structure about .1 miles from the mattress we saw an old man with old clothes and grey hair laying down spying on us! Im not sure if murderer on the run or what?! What are your thoughts on this, has anything crazy ever happened to you when caching? Edited June 23, 2015 by Fisher513 Quote Link to comment
+MountainWoods
Can't say that I've seen such. But I sure hope that no one thinks that I'm a crazy old man spying on them whilst they geocache! Quote Link to comment
+AustinMN
Most of the time, I am the creepiest thing near the cache. Quote Link to comment
+L0ne.R
The coordinates to a cache were off for me. They had me into the woods at the edge of a cornfield, just off a rail-to-trail. Good thing the coords were a little off. I discovered a WR250X Yamaha off road motorcyle under a pile of branches. Looked stolen because the bike was in good shape. The branches had been carefully laid on top. I contacted the police with coordinates. They contacted me to thank me for the detailed information and to report that yes it was stolen. They returned the bike back to its owner. It did feel creepy though to discover it. My first thought was that I hoped whoever stole it wasn't nearby watching me. Quote Link to comment
+wmpastor
There was a thread once about a cache in the woods where, unknown (we assume) to the CO there was a meeting spot for sordid activities. I think it was archived once someone reported an unpleasant surprise. Quote Link to comment

I found out after being propositioned several times while doing cache maintenance. I archived it immediately, so as not to attract families to the area. Also, at the time I wasn't retired and the last thing I needed was some inmate getting the wrong impression by seeing me there going in and out of the woods! +niraD
And the winner is... Has Anyone Ever Found a Body. No, it hasn't happened to me, but it has happened, and there is even a bookmark list of caches where it has happened. Quote Link to comment

+SwineFlew
There is a cache near a place where witches get together and do their things. Its on a public park and its allowed. There is a bunch of stuffs thats setup for them. Quote Link to comment
+Zepp914
I found a cache outside of a church where one of the parishioners kept trying to creepily convince us to come inside. Occasionally I have come across tent communities in the woods. Most of the time you can tell they are abandoned and then wonder what happened to all the people. Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
I've got one in a nice park in town, with an interesting history. For the last three or four months, a homeless person has been residing there, or storing his stuff there. I may need to rework the puzzle to a MKH on a bench. Too bad the rebuilt the bridges in town to deprive the bridge people of their homes. I've been to at least three parks in NYC that must be pickle parks on Sunday mornings. Makes it tough to search for the cache! Quote Link to comment
+SheepOnTrip
The worst are phone boxes in London. You are greeted by pee smell, hookers ads and maybe an occasion needle. Although the worst so far was maybe this cache hidden in a big trunk who was cut. I bented over to look inside at sunset and a scared cat who was hiding sleeping there jumped straight at my face with nails on... I don't know which one of us was more shaken by the experience (poor cat). Quote Link to comment

I found out the same thing in a park in a Chicago suburb. I notice a couple of cars parked, but thought nothing of them. Headed into the woods, found the cache, turned around and saw a guy had followed me into the woods. I didn't break any speed records, but set a good pace to get out of there! I learned later that if a car is backed into a space in a mostly empty park, fairly good indication that you're in a pickle park. Quote Link to comment
+Colonial Cats
The creepiest experience I had happened when I was scooting out a local park for a possible cache placement. I looked across a children's playground and saw a man without pants just inside the tree line. Fortunately, the admin office was near-by so I could report it right away. Quote Link to comment
+Blue_Ranger
Once on a very public walking/biking trail, RIGHT at GZ I found a bra and panties-- had to actually duck under the panties to grab the cache. How one manages to lose those particular items in such a public place is rather puzzling! Quote Link to comment
+Vooruit!
Maybe a look behind the nearby bushes ought to have given you a reasonable explanation...?! Quote Link to comment
+Mudfrog
I met up with a big ole surprise the first time i attempted SLSP-Dr Cooper I Presume. Didn't know it at the time but i had come in from the wrong direction which brought me by a homeless camp. Was kinda overgrown where i was walking so i was watching my feet more than what was ahead of me. Sure enough, i came up on the camp with one of its residents sponge bathing (yes he was totally naked). He looked at me, kept on bathing and i kept on a walking. Didn't find the cache that day but i did learn a lesson,,, to watch more closely where i was going. Quote Link to comment
+Borst68
I was scouting a location for a cache once in an undeveloped area of a local park. I followed a trail to a fork. On the right side of the fork was a p0rnographic picture of a man. I turned right and followed the trail to a site where someone recently had a bonfire. Besides the beer cans strewn around, there were many p0rnographic images of men. Seems like there may be something going on back here at night. Ultimately I gave up the idea of placing a cache back there. Quote Link to comment
+hall-explorers
There's one in our neighborhood that is called "I'm watching you" that we went to get a few weeks ago. The coords took us to a spot right between two different properties, and we couldn't figure out which house the cache was on. The description says to cache with confidence b/c it is the owners house, but since GZ is right between the two houses, we can't tell which property it's on, and we didn't want to go onto the wrong property and possibly upset someone if we got the wrong house. So, the creepy part; we were looking around when my wife noticed someone standing very still staring at us intently from the front door of one of the houses. I think it was probably the CO making the cache live up to it's name, but it really creeped my wife and kids out and made them think someone was upset that we were looking around their yard, so they took off before we found it. I figure I'll go back at some point without them. Edited June 30, 2015 by hall-explorers Quote Link to comment
