+bldebabe Posted April 1, 2002 Posted April 1, 2002 Yes, I'd like to attend. I can donate and bring an assortment of chips. Any of the posted dates are fine with me. Bldebabe Quote
+ptk Posted April 1, 2002 Posted April 1, 2002 I will donate, and be there. I would like it to be Sat May 11. I believe I will be able to hide two more caches for the event. [This message was edited by ptk on April 01, 2002 at 10:30 AM.] Quote
+Ttepee Posted April 1, 2002 Posted April 1, 2002 It sounds like fun, unfortunately May is not looking like a good month for us, we've got something going on most every weekend plus a trip to Arkansas right in the middle. I'll keep my eyes open for your plans and if there's anyway we can sneak away we certainly will try Quote

+orange Posted April 1, 2002 Posted April 1, 2002 May is actually a fairly busy month for me. May 11 is possibility but May 18 is a No. Some can make it and some cannot, whatever date this will always be the case. Is it possible to change the topic title to NY/NJ will you attend? Quote
+nikcap Posted April 1, 2002 Posted April 1, 2002 We can be there either date. We can also bring something ... it will be in a 2qt white tupperware container with a blue top containing the usually snack ... oh wait Quote

+briansnat Posted April 3, 2002 Posted April 3, 2002 I expect to be there. May 11th or 18th are fine with me, or most Saturdays. Sundays are no good, as I work on an archaeological excavation in the morning and I coach soccer Sunday afternoons. Silas Condict park is an ideal place and not just because it's 2 miles from my house. There are a large number of Geocaches within 15 miles of the park, the large pavillion makes for a rain or shine event and they allow the all important beer (with the permit). And I found my first Geocache (Feargus) there. Quote
+Ttepee Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Thought it might be worth mentioning that PA is doing an event cache also the weekend of the 18th. You might lose some wideranging cachers if you hold it on competing weekends. Quote
+Team Shibby Posted April 8, 2002 Author Posted April 8, 2002 I am not sure if so few people will constitute paying a fee at a park. What do you think? TEAM SHIBBY!!!! Krs, Kar & Na Quote
+Ttepee Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 Not all cachers read the forums though so you really won't know for sure till you post an event cache for it and see what kind of response you get. Not much help...sorry. Quote
+Crusso Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 Would like to go. Gonna try to hit the central PA one. Hope the dates don't conflict. Post the event as a cache yet? Quote
+CCCooperAgency Posted April 11, 2002 Posted April 11, 2002 Either Saturday sounds good to us. The PA event is now Sat., 6/1 (raindate Sun., 6/2) and the MD event is looking to be 6/29 so there is not any apparent conflict of interest here. What can we bring? Quote
+CT Trampers Posted April 11, 2002 Posted April 11, 2002 If it is the 18th, count us in-- What can we bring? Quote
+briansnat Posted April 11, 2002 Posted April 11, 2002 It seems like the most support is for May 11th, but the 18th is also OK with me. As another person said, don't let the lack of responses here discourage you. A lot of people don't visit these forums. Once you post the "event" then you'll have a better idea. PTK are you going to take care of the arrangements? Let me know and I'll send a check to help out. Quote
+Crusso Posted April 11, 2002 Posted April 11, 2002 Where is this place? Can't turn up anything on a web search. Quote

+briansnat Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 If you spell it Silas Condiuit, you won't find it anywhere (funy, my wife calls it that). It's Silas Condict and a GOOGLE search shows a number of links. Here's one: http://www.parks.morris.nj.us/asp/parks/info.asp Quote
+briansnat Posted April 14, 2002 Posted April 14, 2002 Try this and go to the "pulldow" and click Silas Condict Park http://www.parks.morris.nj.us/asp/parks/park.asp Quote
BassoonPilot Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 From the earliest talk on this project, I saw a price listed to reserve the pavilion. The price was for a Morris County resident. Has any action been taken on this? If not, are non-county residents able to reserve the pavilion? Quote

Yes I believe anyone can reserve the park at this point in time and I think the prices are the same. I am Morris County resident but not certain I can make these dates so I would not obtain a permit if I can't be there. Matter a fact, I believe permittee presence is required Quote
+briansnat Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 I'd go for the permit, but I'm not sure if I can get there before the office closes. I don't even know where it is, but I guess I can find out easily enough. I'll give it a shot and if the 11th or 18th are still open, I'll get the permit for one of those dates. 11th is the first choice, agreed? Also, neither of my links worked, but this one should. Just click on "parks", and go to the "pulldown" and select Silas Condict: http://www.parks.morris.nj.us/ Hey, maybe the info I need is here. I'll take a look Quote
+orange Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Here is the specific link if you didn't find it. http://www.parks.morris.nj.us/reservation.html Quote
+Crusso Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 OK, So... Do we have a definite date/time etc? & has this been posted as an event cache yet?? Quote
+briansnat Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 I will check tomorrow to see if the SC park pavillion is open for the 11th or 18th. If it is, I will reserve it (11th first choice) and post the event cache. Quote
+Crusso Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 I maybe a little late but since Mother's Day is the weekend of the 11th I vote for the 18th. As store mgr it's mandatory I work that weekend & I'd really like to attend! Just my 2 cents. Quote
+SamDeG Posted April 21, 2002 Posted April 21, 2002 Where exactly is it? What are we supposed to donate? It's an inside joke [] Quote

BassoonPilot Posted April 28, 2002 Posted April 28, 2002 To quote the late, great, Gilda Radner. Quote
+briansnat Posted April 29, 2002 Posted April 29, 2002 The covered pavillion in Silas Condict is now booked through the summer. But there are 4 group sites still available for May 18th. I figure if it rained, we'd get a limited turnout even if we had booked the pavillion, so no big deal about booking an open site. I will check out each of them tomorrow, If everyone is still up for a May picnic, I'll book the site on Wed. What say y'all? Quote
CacheDog Posted April 30, 2002 Posted April 30, 2002 All your dates sound good to me. Almost missed this event since I have not checked the forums for about a month. As I said See you There! Quote
BassoonPilot Posted May 1, 2002 Posted May 1, 2002 Will there be Cache Ninja sightings at this get together, like at the one held last year? Quote
