+JohnnyVegas
With easter so close, try setting up an easter egg hunt with plastic easter eggs. This would be a multi cache. As some one finds and egg, they open it and find the coordinates for the next egg. Of course the last one would be the cache. Quote Link to comment
enfanta
...additionally, the last cache could be the Easter Bunny himself, running fast and trying to keep the basket away from the cachers! The Buzzard's
Darn, had the same idea, but now I'll think of something else...Good luck with it though. Quote Link to comment
enfanta
Looks like that Easter Egg cache will be out in CA. No reason why you couldn't have one of your own here in PA! WackyCachers
Don't stop at Easter...we had my daughter's 9th Birthday Party in a park in September...out of a combined 21 parties thrown for my kids, this was by far the best! We placed one cache per guest, labled them distinctively, each guest getting control of the Geep for her assigned cache. They searched as a group, but only the "cacher" for that particular one could truly "find" it. In the cache was one big item for the "cacher" and 9 smaller, party-type items for the others. They had a blast! As a time-killer at the end, we had a similar search, splitting the kids into 2 groups, finding puzzle pieces (an 8x10 printout of the birthday girl, cut into large puzzle pieces). Each group had a different photo, but they were hidden in the same spot. The trick was to be discreet enough that the other team didn't see where one was found. Everyone got ribbons for their team, and they all signed the birthday girl's ribbon. This was educational - they learned about satellites, GPS units, buddy-system, being discreet, team-work, how-to-shut-up-when-you-see-the-cache-but-it's-not-your-turn, etc! But most of all, we got away from the swimming or mini-golf or ice skating parties we have all gone to a few too many times (and hosted a few too many, as well!) A bend in the road is not the end of the road... Unless you fail to make the turn. Quote Link to comment
+Tsegi Mike and Desert Viking
We thought of it and did it. The Easter Bunny has a Garmin Event Cache by E. Bunny [profile] N 33° 34.538 W 111° 51.255 (WGS84) Hidden: 3/29/2003 Waypoint GCDAB7 We hid a multicache of Easter eggs at a local garden and had people search for the eggs to get to the event cache where the final "egg" was a large basket of Easter treats. Those who came, even those without kids, had a good time. We'll probably do it again next year, only bigger and better. Till a voice, as bad as Conscience, rang interminable changes On one everlasting Whisper day and night repeated -- so: "Something hidden. Go and find it. Go and look behind the Ranges -- "Something lost behind the Ranges. Lost and waiting for you. Go!" Rudyard Kipling , The Explorer 1898 Quote Link to comment
irvingdog
Too late everyone. Did it last year. All Alone Quote Link to comment
BalloonChasers
Why is it too late? Can't it be done again in another location? Quote Link to comment
+Team Shibby
Of course you can do another. Just cause it has been done before does not mean you cannot do one again. I do think that one or two per state would be more than enough (unless it is a private family hunt) TEAM SHIBBY!!!! Krs, Kar & Na Quote Link to comment
