+flyguymk
Looked in knowledge books like a good troop, nada. Who or what decides if a cache is beginners cache? My first two caches are rated beginners, difficulties are 1 1/2-2 for both. I have a P&G that I'd rate lower than 1/1 if I could, but it doesn't show as beginners. It should! Maybe nobody cares, dunno. Quote Link to comment
+JesandTodd
I think size might have something to do with it as well? Less than a 1.5/1.5 plus not a micro? I dunno what the real criteria is. Hey, I've seen your name in logs around here ETA: spelling, as usual Edited November 27, 2011 by JesandTodd Quote Link to comment
+WarNinjas
Great question as some of mine are marked that way and I cant see a reason for it. I think you can click on something to take it off. I just leave it. -WarNinjas Quote Link to comment
+JesandTodd
There's a checkmark on the bottom of the page in question "highlight beginner caches" Quote Link to comment
+webscouter.
It also takes into account size of cache, and how many of the recent logs are found vs DNF Quote Link to comment
+Glimmereyes
pretty sure the date it was lost found also plays a part. Think it has to be within 7 days, but don't quote me on that number. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
According to the pop-up that appears when you click the question mark next to the "Highlight beginners caches" checkbox: Some geocache characteristics make it more likely that a new geocacher will be successful when they are first getting started. Beginner caches incorporate these characteristics:Traditional type Low difficulty Recently found by others No micro sized caches No problems reported Quote Link to comment
+flyguymk
Excellent imput. I missed the blue? icon next to highlight beginners caches. Explains it all. [] Edited November 27, 2011 by flyguymk Quote Link to comment
TheCacheSeeker
Excellent imput. I missed the blue? icon next to highlight beginners caches. Explains it all. [] Often times, what once was a beginner cache may not be highlighted any more, and what was not could be highlighted as beginner again. By the way, your honey hole series is very interesting, it looks like fun. Quote Link to comment

Pup Patrol
That's very cool how it only affects everything if you're logged in. I had no idea what you people were talking about at first, because I wasn't logged in. Very bizarre. Do the smilies I've chosen look green, too? Quote Link to comment
