  1. Disreguard!
  2. As soon as Lowrance hears from Groundspeak regarding a resolution to the promo code problem I will send promo codes to everyone that has notified me via a forum post. Excellent-BTW my Safari ROCKS! Long overdue,
  3. Tnks for the imput on maps. I allready ordered the accuterra W online, had to have it. Should do me just fine. I had the exact error message as previous post when trying to use free months trial code included with safari purchased from GSHQ. Glad the problem isn't on my end. If you have a promo code that works I'd take it. Tnks Lowrance Lady
  4. Howdy All-New Safari owner Updated to latest software version today. Stock map isn't going to make it. Need some advice and or links for better map for my Safari. Looking for one all purpose addon that handles secondary streets/parks/trails. Preloaded on sd card would be good. Any thoughts would be helpful. Tnks in advance.
  5. Disreguard, wrong section, OOPPSS!
  6. I've had my Safari couiple days now. Seems to be working properly, have a good handle on the menus. Main reason I bought this unit was because of this thread, One would think a brand new would have the latest software, but from reading prior posts I'm unsure. My base map is totally inadequate, doesn't show any side streets. Makes me think I have outdated software. How do I find my current software version on my unit? I haven't bought a micro SD card yet. 32gig cards are expensive. Any suggestions on the minimum size required to do updates would be helpful. One issue at a time, tnks in advance.
  7. When I pull maintence on my caches, trackable inventory is included. Doesn't matter to me if bug was droped day before. If it's not home it goes missing. Fanatsy inventories, like at several Bug Hotels in my area I know of BUG me, punn intented.
  8. Just read thead from HQ. Said they are going to bulld tile server to help with maps. New maps are ok for me, but can be painfully slow. If the cache filter is supposed to remember my prefrence for traditional caches, don't work. It gets old erasing all the other type caches everytime I want to print.
  9. I don't think it matters to much Momma. The bug is in your inventory, and out of the cache inventory. Some times you find bugs that are in another cache inventory from the one you found it at, no choice but to grab.
  10. Being new, I didn't have any idea gxproxy/proxy trackables existed. Very cool concept. Surfed the site. Purchased one for a geocoin I have listed missing. They have some very nifty custon swag to by, some is very affordable. I wonder if (THOSE WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS) will start collecting these? Is it possible to totally remove a missing trackable from your inventory? Thoughts anyone-
  11. The "collectable" designation means that it's in the owner's collection. It's designed to help owners organize their Trackable lists, not an offer to give a TB away. You can tell because the owner gets nothing when you take it, and if they intended to be that generous, they wouldn't have activated it. We'll now I know. This one little piece of tb info has had me puzzled. Precise and to the point, tnks!
  12. Excellent imput. I missed the blue? icon next to highlight beginners caches. Explains it all. []
  13. Looked in knowledge books like a good troop, nada. Who or what decides if a cache is beginners cache? My first two caches are rated beginners, difficulties are 1 1/2-2 for both. I have a P&G that I'd rate lower than 1/1 if I could, but it doesn't show as beginners. It should! Maybe nobody cares, dunno.
  14. Tnks much for the imput, will check link.
  15. I'm well aware that the above mentioned GPS is entry level, no problem, expected it. I've got the serial cable worken and can move individual waypoint over to it, huge relief from doing by hand. ?-Is there any thing else the little guy can do to enhanced my game experience. Total Noob at this GPS thing, but addicted. I think the answer is no, unsure. Verification of this assumption one way or the other, by guys and or gals in the know, would be appreciated. Tnks in advance-
  16. YUP, goofy idea, topic closed, lol
  17. Howdy All, I'm so new I squeak, lol I've finally came to a finial decession on my own personalized trinket to leave at caches. Can't use box of very small manilla envelopes, inside clearence approx. 2"x3". They can be sealed like an envelope, with a little lick. (List $12) FreeNow! Have about 50 very small ziplocks. Found a cache where the gal had one of the twist top micros one can buy on site. The micro was inside one of these small zips, good idea, extra protection cause this cache was way exposed to weather. (They cheap, but conivence is good.) Anywho, anyone interested in one or both items leave reply here, message me on site, email me. Have new gmail account, could use practice with it, but not critical. mdklingel@comcast.net flyguymdk@gmail.com Can meet peeps perty much anytime(currently among the 9%). Unwilling to burn much fuel though, gotta meet at TotemLake Mall.
  18. Confirm finds? Do you mean log your find on the website? Tnks for the reply bud, got it figured out. Can't stop playing with the google earth thing atm, man thats convienent, cya
  19. Thankee- Off topic, there is someway to confirm finds, so they never get vaporized it seems. Did it the other day on a couple, but cant figger out how to do it again. Know it simple, anyone want to hand hold, figgering out everything else out perty much. STUMPED!
  20. Garmin Etrex H, allways wanted one for hiking and such. opinions? Does your computer have a serial port? The cable for that unit still requires a serial port. Older P4 machine, ASUS mobo, antique really. Still runnen strong, could use more ram. Good input, ugh perty sure it has serial port. Do ya think the cable will be extra or included? Tnks
  21. Ugh, explain IM speak, pleezz?
  22. Yup, thats the show I saw on PBS. Tnks for the heads up on the event, I'll try to make it. The whole thing is a bit more complex than I orginally thought, getten thru some of the reading. Got time, got patience. Hope my gps has a cord to puter, unsure. Find out couple days. Got the google earth thing going and the software for the game, gonna work on that tomorrow. Really want to do a few hides perty soon, didnt really realize about the upkeep thing, makes sense though. One string will be outside NorthBend a bit, no prob there. Other one way up behind Mt SI, dunno If I'll be able to get those up any time soon. That string would be 5's all the way. What the heck does FTF mean? Think its good. If there is a page of slang somewhere? Could use link if convienent. Tnks again, []
  23. Saw the show on PBS other night, almost changed channels, glad I didn,t. Found first cachs this morning, easy ones close to home. Lots to learn yet, will post if I can't figger out something. GPS unit on order. CYAS
