The_Incredibles_ Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 At Walmart here, they're $1.97 each. I'm hoping for something cheaper as I need to buy at least 30 of them. Less than $1 would be great. Anyone found a good deal for these? TIA. Quote
t4e Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 this is the cheapest i found http://www.drivescachecloset.com/waterproofmatchstickholder-discountissue.aspx yes, i have used that online store and i have no hesitation recommending them the shipping estimator doesn't quite work for Canada but you can send a message to the owner Quote
TrimblesTrek Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Match containers=micro=not a real "cache"=WHY bother Quote
brenda&&rew Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I have seen them at times in the Dollar Giant for $1.00 each. Quote
t4e Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Match containers=micro=not a real "cache"=WHY bother as far as Groundspeak is concerned, and myself, a micro IS a real cache Quote
Chief301 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I picked up a few the other day at my local WalMart for $0.89 each (Louisiana) Quote
murfster Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 These are great, almost the same size and water proof! http://www.cacherstoybox.ca/TUBES_p_174.html Quote
chris-mouse Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Lee Valley tools has bison tubes for $1.55 each if you're buying five or more. They also have Brass ID containers (think evil nano cache containers) at $4.50 for six of them. Quote
entogeek Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 From my experience with my own caches, once the O-ring on these matchstick containers and the Lee Valley bison tubes fail, you no longer have a waterproof container. I began replacing the LV bison tubes with match stick containers and much to my chagrin have found that I need to replace them as well. Just my 2 cents worth. Quote

Landsharkz Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 A good waterproof micro container that has made its way north of the border is the 'soda tube' cache. These are pop bottles before they're expanded. They are smooth enough for a cache ID sticker and long enough to hold a geo-stick/pencil, which the match containers aren't. They also don't require an o-ring. Quote

I might go back and offer to purchase a bulk order and see what they say... Quote
t4e Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 unfortunately the preforms are overpriced everywhere Quote
