Does anyone have any current information on how many active geocaches there are currently in the UK - roughly - as it changes by the hour!

 

In addition is there any indication of how many active geocachers there are in the UK at present? Not sure how we define active though!

will be 70,000 + caches now, not sure about cachers though.

Going to geocaching.com/seek and then advanced search, filling in the boxes for All geocaches by country/state and selecting United Kingdom [breath] Will tell you:

According to cacherstats.com, there are 4878 UK cachers who have found at least 200 caches. Some of these may no be active any more, while there must be many more who have yet to find 200 caches! But at least it's a start to answering your second question.

I wasn't really being serious but if we're having a guess then I reckon we're averaging 100 a day... call it 10 months.... the end of July, next year

1000 decent caches and 27998 micros and nanos then

Some people really have issues with Micros

 

I guess it relates to when you started caching, I started when nanos and micros are the norm, but others started when "proper" (so called) caches were the norm!
