+TeamDJ*
Here we have calculated a Lower bound of Wilson score confidence interval for a Bernoulli parameter to find the best caches. This really isn't as complicated as it sounds and it's easy to read up on it using Google. In short, the best caches are those with many favorite points and many logs. Normally with this formula, everyone who doesn't give a point is down-rating the item. But since favorite points only exists for those with premium memberships, we are only counting the data from premium members I don’t want to confuse anyone, but the basically you can consider the likeliness of how you would enjoy these caches. #1 - (80%) - Da Vinci Code (GC3KM3K) #2 - (78%) - Robin Hood - (GC2W63K) #3 - (77%) - Table Top (Cederberg) - (GCZK12) #4 - (74%) - Extremely Well Hung - (GC3BA3Y) #5 - (72%) - The Darkness Beckons - (GC2G0ZA) #6 - (71%) - Pieces of Eight - (GC2XGX3) #7 - (70%) - Stairway to Scouts - (GC3YQ2D) #8 - (67%) - TeamDJ's Puzzle Quest #4 - (GC442JW) #9 - (64%) - Fire ~ (Re)Testing your Physiology - (GC2Y90C) #10 - (64%) - Huey Dewey and Louie - (GC2MMM9) Link to comment

Discombob placed all his caches before the FP system was activated. He would be far higher if it was implemented before he started caching. The higher the find rate on a cache, the harder to maintain a high ratio of FP. Many cachers simply don't use the system. Good caches that are found often will have a lower FP ratio than more difficult or remote good caches. Old, pre Favorite system caches that have been archived, skew the statistics. Newer archived caches skew the stats too. I remove my FP from (brilliant) archived caches. FP are best used to guide cachers to the best ACTIVE (and visible) caches. I feel it is a waist to leave FP with archived caches. That too skews stats. To maintain a high standard while placing many caches is harder than maintains a high standard with a few. A cacher with many brilliant, now archived caches, will be placed falsely low. Thanks for all the work though! Will certainly chase team DJ caches if I am in the area! Link to comment
+Carbon Hunter
Pete Fully understand. I'm busy with that statistics, but it takes a bit longer than expected. I have to access every individuals profile separately. Seems I'll just have to do that. Well, please find the same stats (excluding any event caches) #1 - TeamDJ* - ave. 9.46 FP/cache #2 - Hesamati - ave. 6.96 FP/cache #3 - CapeDoc - ave. 6.85 FP/cache #4 - GlobalRat - ave. 4.44 FP/cache #5 - Antron - ave. 4.31 FP/cache #6 - Discombob - ave. 3.95 FP/cache #7 - paddawan - ave. 3.23 FP/cache #8 - Cism - ave. 3.09 FP/cache #9 - Carbon Hunter - ave. 3.06 FP/cache #10 - Noddy - ave. 1.83 FP/cache #11 - GEO936 - ave. 1.83 FP/cache #12 - Louwtjie&Vroutjie - ave. 1.53 FP/cache #13 - CrystalFairy - ave. 1.33 FP/cache #14 - TechnoNut - ave. 1.31 FP/cache #15 - Fish Eagle - ave. 1.20 FP/cache Comparing FP is interesting, but doesn't mean all that much. Agreed CapeDoc I have also gone back an awarded FP to those older caches I found years ago - but like you - I too have not awarded archived caches and have mostly removed FP from caches that get archived later. I still have a few FP in my bag awaiting awarding too So although not a great indicator - like any stats - just shows one aspect of the truth. One could only look at active caches - but that too would throw up an issue. As they say "Lies, damned lies and statistics" Link to comment
