+The Chessy Chumps
Hello all, Has anybody ever used one of the below for a cache? Here is some info about them: Constructed of strong yet very lightweight aluminium Fully waterproof screw closure with a rubber seal Comes with a handy keyring fob on the lid Weight: Only 29g Height: 6cm. Diameter: 2.5cm Colour: Metalic olive green They can be found on eBay at the link below: Click here! They seem pretty good so I may order a few but just wondered if anyone else had used them before I splash out the cash Thanks in advance Phil The Chessy Chumps Edited February 28, 2009 by The Chessy Chumps Quote Link to comment
Clan Riffster
I like it! My guess is, it's manufactured in China, so I'd invest a few pennies replacing the O-ring. Other than that, it looks kewl! Quote Link to comment
+The Chessy Chumps
I think I'll order two or three on payday and run a few tests. I shall report my findings Phil The Chessy Chumps Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
I would not hide such a container in an urban setting (looks a bit too much pipe bombish). However, does look like an interesting container to use. Quote Link to comment
+The Chessy Chumps
Good point!! I wouldn't have used this as an urban anyway so it should be ok placed out in the country. Thats the good thing about forums.... The view from another set of eyes!! Thanks for the input Phil The Chessy Chumps Quote Link to comment

However - in Colorado Springs, CO last month - the squad "made safe" a plastic chapstick tube cache. So looking ever more like the real thing won't help much either...... Quote Link to comment

How much did it cost for them to render a potential firecracker that couldn't even remove a shrub, safe? Or did they suspect it was level five alien tech capable of leveling a city block? Then the real question would be "Who has been shooting their moths off to low level law enforcement?" Quote Link to comment
+va griz
Anybody know where you can get a container like that in the US? I want one....Or three. Quote Link to comment
AZcachemeister
Nice, but a bit pricey! Not sure how three pounds fifty translates to U.S. Dollars these days... I think I would prefer to invest in Soda Bottle Preforms at $0.63 each in lots of 30. The price difference would certainly allow for a generous supply of cammo paint for a bit of customization. Stompy
I bought one off ebay to use as a micro - they are quality, they should replace all plastic containers - waterproof because they are used for matches. Quote Link to comment
+Prime Suspect
Are they charging £3.50 (~$4.80US) for ONE of these? I can buy an ammo can for that. Or half a dozen match containers, which will keep out the water just as well. Barnum was right... Quote Link to comment

Not exactly like it but very similar are these waterproof, airtight, key fob pill cases that I've found at a couple of different pharmacy chain stores (i.e. Rite Aid). They come in shiny aluminum colors but can be painted. You can also get them on ebay here Quote Link to comment

A post that is practically an advertisement for their product? It does seem overpriced. Quote Link to comment
+BBWolf+3Pigs
A little cheaper here. It's an Olicamp matchbox. Quote Link to comment
