+khaytsus
I tend to browse around at local caches, seeing last logs etc, when I'm having a little down time or taking a break at work etc... today I see this log in one of our local caches: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LU...56-8a428b04e22d Does this seem like spam to you guys? Maybe the idea is okay, but it seems too tied into the commercial website from which it is hosted. Link to comment

+sbell111
I don't have a problem with it. Many people have personal trackables. Many of these items are trackable somewhere other than on GC.com (like the original TBs). I see no problem with pointing people to the site on which they are tracked. Link to comment

Yeah, you're right, I just bumped into Don Trump the other day at Safeway. You wouldn't believe the junk that that man eats. Link to comment
+StarBrand
Such "trackables" never really get anywhere for the most part. I wouldn't worry about it - not too many folks will ever see the other site. Link to comment

+KoosKoos
Nah, no different than if someone left a bunch of coupons to a local store. Yes, it's a bit of advertising and not sure I'd value it highly as a trade, but giving them away (without overloading the other contents)? I have no problem with it. P.S. Go SPAM! +Okiebryan
Something about "left 10 tracking cards that can be tracked at www.whateversite.com come visit!" Link to comment
+WRASTRO
It was a log with a link to the latest greatest website ever for tracking some geo-coupons and for selling/promoting other stuff. Not surprised if it went away. Seems like TPTB may have quietly removed it. Link to comment
+Okiebryan
I would have deleted it from one of my caches. It left a bad taste when I looked at it. High slime factor. Link to comment

+Knight2000
I hate that Trimble crap. I wouldn't even consider using that unless they removed their spam from every log that is used for. Link to comment

+DavidMac
I hate that Trimble crap. I wouldn't even consider using that unless they removed their spam from every log that is used for. I posted about this a while back. It turns out that the Trimble message is just the default text that is already filled in when you go to write up a log, and that you can delete it if you want. People leave it in either out of laziness, or because they just don't know that they can delete it. Well, okay, maybe there's somebody out there who just wants to brag about their fancy phone. With TPTB using travel bugs as one way to offset the costs of running the website, I would imagine that they don't think highly of people advertising third party tracking services on the site.
