+the pooks
Why is a FTF geocoin called that. I'm under the impression that FTF stands for First To Find - but that does not make much sense. Thanks Quote Link to comment
+PengoFamily
Hi! I think the idea of the FTF geocoin is to have it as an first to find prize. People can use any geocoin for that purpose but a few designs do say FTF....a nice surprise for the first cacher that finds the cache. There also FTF pins too. Quote Link to comment
SoCalGeocoins
Why is a FTF geocoin called that. I'm under the impression that FTF stands for First To Find - but that does not make much sense. Thanks Cache owners may leave an unactivated coin in their cache as a reward for being FTF. FTF Geocoins- "usually" let you keep it for your own personal collection for being FTF. CinemaBoxers
We have an activated FTF Geocoin that we let those who are FTF on our caches discover- it stays in our collection, and only those who get an FTF can get the discovery! Quote Link to comment
+Team chelmo
I have this FTF coin travelling FTF Braggin' Coin It's mission is to be placed into a new cache to be retrieved by the FTF, then in turn for them to create a new cache for the coin to be once again placed in to, and so the cycle contiunes Quote Link to comment
Jake - Team A.I.
It could also be used for FTF freaks to "dip" for every cache they get FTF on. Quote Link to comment

I just awarded a FTF coin to the first DeLorme Challenge completer in our state. I have the challenge set for 2 tiers so the other tier finishers will get one too - just a different one. It makes a really nice prize and memory for that very hard FTF. Quote Link to comment

Also we're pretty competitive when it comes to getting FTFs in our community so the coin only travels among the usual suspects. As for the OP.... FTF makes more sense than a Virtual Ghost coin, doesn't it?? Quote Link to comment
+the pooks
Adds light on the subject - thanks for all the posts. It seems that a number of FTF coins end up travelling just like other coins and bugs (like the one I found and that prompted the question) Quote Link to comment

Thanks Because actually finding a geocoin in the wild is such a rare event that people jump up and exclaim FOUND THE F____R! When they finally do. Quote Link to comment

Hey, that's a great idea. How do you let the FTF cachers know this? Quote Link to comment
