Is there a way to start trackable coins and TBs from your home coords

instead of going back to nearest cache to log them.? :)

Trying to get actually mileage on them and not clutter someones cache log book.

Thanks in advance

Sure :D Put a cache in your front yard :)

Seriously though, the closest we've found is to log them at the cache in the town square. You might try putting a cache in the center of your town to do the same. Not quite as good as home coords, but pretty close.

Had thought about a front yard cache, but there was listed till a few minutes ago, a cache 467 feet from me.

But in last few minutes it was archived(it was also a front yard cache).

So maybe I will put a small micro out on flower garden bench next to street :)

Over time the mileage is going to be off if you do any puzzle or multi caches anyway. The puzzle cache that isn't at the coords will add or subtract mileage as will the secondary stages of a multi cache.

So the cache nearest your home will be just a small part of the overall discrepancy.

. . . not to mention the underestimate inherent in the 'straight line' distances used.

Place a cache in your yard, but don't activate it.

When you submit the cache, make sure you select the option that the cache is not active yet. Nobody else will ever see it, and you can log bugs in and out yourself.

THis would be a great 'placeholder' for all your coins also so they are not all listed on your accounts page.

Actually reviewers can see it, when they look at caches they see a list of the 5 closest caches including unactivated hidden coin vaults. but if you use an archived cache... :anibad:

After you remove the coin/TB from the cache nearest to your house, you can delete the note that you used to drop the coin. That way it is still started at the appropriate cache, but there won't be a cluttering entry.
