I hope I get a number that's in the double digits. Something tells me I'll be pleasantly suprised. Quote Link to comment

+KirklandExplorers
Yup, it is no longer for sale If things don't work out I may relist it. Quote Link to comment
SCP-173
Yup, it is no longer for sale If things don't work out I may relist it. I thought eBay had rules about pulling auctions. Quote Link to comment
+Ladycacher
They don't have rules about pulling them. You can pull the auction if the item is no longer avaliable, which in his case it wasn't avaliable anymore so he pulled it. Quote Link to comment

Ooops, I gave it to somebody else is a legit reason to pull something out from under someone who has made a bid? I assume there had been bids, or the whole discussion is moot. Quote Link to comment
+KirklandExplorers
If you list an item at ebay you an end the auction early at anytime. In this case there were no bidders so I didn't feel bad about pulling the item off. If there was a bidder I would probably have left it so not to create any hard feelings. Quote Link to comment
+KirklandExplorers
Moot. That is a fun word to type and say fast 10 times! Quote Link to comment
SCP-173
It doesn't bother me either way, since I didn't bid on it. I just thought there were rules about pulling items, but then again I don't use eBay all that much. Quote Link to comment
+AtlantaGal
Just as info... If there were bids on it and you pulled the item listing. Those bidders would have been allowed to post negative feedback if they chose to. Edited September 28, 2005 by AtlantaGal Quote Link to comment
+Cornerstone4
This thread is so much fun, I might have to list my extra Swags coin just for the heck of it. I may or may not pull it early! Muahahahahahahah! Quote Link to comment
+Ladycacher
In my four years of selling on ebay, I have pulled three auctions. When there are bids and you cancel, you choise the "Cancel Bids and end auction" selection. You also have to select a reason, one of which is the item is no longer avaliable. If you choise that selection then the bidders are notified by email and they can not leave feedback since they did not win the auction and you are in the clear. So Cornerstone4....your in the clear if you want to "play" ROFL. Edited September 28, 2005 by ladycacher Quote Link to comment
+Spencersb
Moot. That is a fun word to type and say fast 10 times! sounds like a cow that's been eating peanut butter! I've been on eBay for 6 years, over 500 feedback. I've never pulled an auction or had one pulled. Lots of times on stuff that might be listed in the local newspaper, sellers will state that they reserve the right to end the auction early if the item sells locally. In a way, that's what happened here. Since there were no bidders, I agree, no harm, no foul. If there had been bidders, I'd feel obligated to follow through, just as the buyer would be. In my defense of pulling three auctions in the past, one of my kids broke it before it sold (at least I didn't ship it and say it got broke in the mail-that has happened to me), the description can be wrong, etc. I agree that you should follow through, but sometimes you can't. I know that you are not taking a hit at me, but I wanted to make my case a little more clear. Speaking of ebay...there are now four pages of geocaching stuff. I am thinking about starting to make "different" containers and sell them on ebay. Some of those containers are bringing some $$$. Moot.....a cow eating peanut butter....that sounds like a new off topic thread to me! Edited September 29, 2005 by ladycacher Quote Link to comment

+phoenix-rose
Hi all! I MUST get one of these - I've been placing ghost caches all over Salt Lake City and the Salt Lake Valley for about a week now (the idea was in the forums a while ago). Anyone want to trade? My Coin Trading List Thanks! ~Rose Quote Link to comment
+KirklandExplorers
We placed the number on the back of the coin so we can place a cache where it is needed to solve the lat/longitude. We will have the same number on the back of the coin for all editions so in awhile it will be widely known. Quote Link to comment
