+Fraverco
I use my little Boston Terrier "Max" Who would want to see my Mug up there? Not me.. Quote Link to comment
Radman Forever
After using pics like these as my avatars, I got too many complaints on how butt ugly my face is, so I now hide behind the Radman persona! Those photos were taken when I first started caching three years ago, I have since matured into a college student adult, but my face is still butt ugly. Quote Link to comment
ATMouse
I like my avatar - it harkens back to my original caching name, "Mousebuster". Quote Link to comment
+deimos444
And now I'm using a doggie pic cause I like doggies. Quote Link to comment

+WalruZ
Personally, I see the avatar as a creative outlet, not as a venue for my mug. Personally I see it exactly the opposite way. My avatar is a small version of my profile page picture. It is a picture of who I am. When you see a post from me, you see me next to it. Frankly I think "cool avatars" are in the same class of oxymoron as "cool ringtones". Quote Link to comment

+OHMIKY
I use a picture of myself because I think I look fabulous and I want to give everyone else the opportunity to brighten their day by seeing the image Quote Link to comment
+CacherMedic
I'd be happy to post a picture of myself as an avatar, but it would probably scare the daylights out of most people, cause numerous cracks in monitor screens, and disrupt internet service in most areas!!! Simple graphics are safer!!!!! Quote Link to comment
+deimos444
Gosh we are certainly getting a range of response from A to Z! Quote Link to comment

+TotemLake
I've noticed that many cachers use their picture as part of their avatar. Is it vanity? Is it the ultimate expression of identity? Personally, I see the avatar as a creative outlet, not as a venue for my mug. Hey, that's just me. You got me to thinking... why can't it be a venue for one's mug? Most of us know each other by some form or fashion... so it makes it a bit more personal. Anyway, based on that, I decided to update my avaatar. Quote Link to comment

+Mudinyeri
As opposed to my own mug in my avatar, I use my son's picture. He's usually with me when I'm caching and he's way better looking. Quote Link to comment
+RakeInTheCache
Why yes, as a matter of fact, I am in love with my own image, (I spend much of my day gazing into a mirror), and I especially love this photo of my husband and myself posing at the beach in Cape May. Don't hate be because I am beautiful. I admit - this one made me laugh. Quote Link to comment
+Arnold Evrkachen
I use my own picture for the same reason I use my own name: I have no imagination. Quote Link to comment
Team WorldPeaceTurtle
No photo avatar for us - too many people for that teeny tiny spot! We do have some pics on our profile page, but even then are missing 2-3 of our team members. With a few more caches I hope we'll get everyone's picture up. Besides, this avatar is our team logo. Now if only I can figure out how to add a kilt... Edited September 27, 2005 by Team WorldPeaceTurtle Quote Link to comment
+1stimestar
I just hope Cybret continues to use his picture for his avatar! Quote Link to comment

+SUp3rFM & Cruella
We use this picture as an avatar and it is on our profile. It was such a great moment. It sums up for us what is geocaching for us. We love it. Edited May 4, 2006 by SUp3rFM & Cruella Quote Link to comment
+Fish Below The Ice
All the talk of avatars and kilts in this thread has convinced me to finally upload my own avatar. It got munged a bit by the matter transferrence beam, but here's how the original looked (and yes, this is a dead ringer for me): (Make your own superhero here.) Quote Link to comment

+Confucius' Cat
No particular reason for using my pic, it's just a camp (and photoshop) thing, even I don't understand. I think it is a fair illustration of absurdity- that is one of my minor majors. (or is that a major minor?) Quote Link to comment
+Savoy 6
I just use my honeymoon picture. Special Ops Medical Assoc meeting 1997. Yes, I honeymooned at a conference. Conference was already scheduled and I got married 3 days before. So I bought tickets for my wife, while I was in class, she was swimmming and all that stuff. (it's the best picture of just the two of us) Quote Link to comment
