  1. I'd be happy to post a picture of myself as an avatar, but it would probably scare the daylights out of most people, cause numerous cracks in monitor screens, and disrupt internet service in most areas!!! Simple graphics are safer!!!!!
  2. My choice of screen name really wasn't too creative. My interest in geocaching was piqued about a year ago when I first heard of it. However, I didn't pursue the sport at the time. Then, two months ago, I purchased my first GPSr for an extended road trip vacation. After being completely amazed with the capability the GPSr unit to route me around most of western North America (it was a 8000 mile road trip ) I was hooked! I started searching the 'net for new ways to play with my "toy", and was reminded of geocaching. I decided I just had to play!! Hence the first part of my screen name... "Cacher". The second part was easy........ I'm a paramedic ...... Thus, "CacherMedic" was born!!! Boring, but there you have it!
  3. I'm currently using the "Star of Life". It's probably not the most original avatar, but it does identify what I've been doing for the last 27 years.
  4. I don't know about crazy, but this is about the DUMBEST thing I've ever done at a cache site. For the full story, click on the link below. (Partial post of my exploits at Which Cache Is Witch. Sorry, no picture. ) "My "adventure" wasn't over, however. When I got back to my car, I found that I didn't have my keys. At first I thought I might have dropped them while searching for the cache..... but no.... I'd locked them in my car during the 10 minutes I'd sat there trying to get a good satellite fix. Boy, did I feel really stupid. There were my keys sitting in the driver's seat, staring at me!! Oh well, thank goodness for AAA!! "
  5. Bridge caches can be fun.... If they are in low traffic area, or under pedestrian bridges in parks. I'd would avoid "highway bridges" or bridges with steep or unstable ground under them however. This is an example of a fun & safe bridge cache. You might contact the cache owner and see if he has any good tips for ya. Best wishes!!
  6. Paramedic for 25 years...... (25 years?? Where did the time go??? Why did you make me think about that!!!! ) Currently active in EMS instruction and I also serve with a local Fire/EMS agency.
  7. Haven't broken anything - yet - while geocaching. I locked my key in my car yesterday at a cache. Thought about breaking the window... but decided that calling AAA was a better idea!
  8. Just saying "Hello". New to geocaching with a mere 4 finds to my record. Best wishes!!!
  9. So what about DVDs? I recently visited a cache and traded a DVD of the original "Little Shop of Horrors" movie for a novel. The DVD cost me $2.00 at a local store. I thought it would make a great trade item after I watched it, but after reading this fourm, I'm not so sure. Let me know what ya think.... good trade item or not??? ... And... what is a good type of item for trade. I'm still new at this (4 found caches to my credit) and I'm still learning the "rules" of the game.
