bonnjer
I'm starting to plan out my first cache and want some advice from those of you who have been FTF. What kind of "special" items do you think make good ones for the FTF? Any ideas are most certainly welcomed. I appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks! Jeremy Quote Link to comment
+Chuy!
Believe me, most FTF hounds will not care; they're mainly concern with beating the competition and claiming bragging rights. But, if you insist ... some of the FTF prizes that have been offered, and I've taken, include: gift certificates to movies and coffee houses; collectible coins (i.e. Indian head nickels and pennies); TB tags/Geocoins; GPS/GEO bumper stickers; and free pick of the litter, so of speak. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
+jimmyreno
I don't put out FTF prizes, those people are so nutty about getting the FTF it isn't necessary. Try slipping in a 10th to find instead. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
I rarely place FTF prizes in my caches, but the few times I did, I used Geocaching.com hats, a new Petzel Micro headlamp, unactivated TB tags and a pair of binoculars. Edited August 13, 2005 by briansnat Quote Link to comment
+reveritt
Geocoins, gift certificates to local business, batteries, money... Quote Link to comment
+GIDEON-X
Myself I use Lotto Scratchers Arizonia and California, most have a chance of winning $5000 Dollars............. Quote Link to comment
+QDman
The only FTF prize I ever placed was a DVD that related to the theme of the cache. Quote Link to comment
+Team Cotati
$20.00..........cash. Quote Link to comment
+TeamAO
Some hiking stuff. Carabiners, compasses, xenon lights, and neat stuff like that. Or that's what I want to find atleast. Quote Link to comment
YemonYime
The only FTF prize I ever placed was a DVD that related to the theme of the cache. Hey Q! I just did that with my last two caches myself! The first was when I placed a brand new DVD of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" for the FTF of THIS CACHE. And then I stuffed Dukes of Hazzard and Beverly Hillbillies DVD's into THIS CACHE. I just think it's a neat idea and great momento for someone who took the time to rush out and patronize ya! Quote Link to comment
+Muddler
On my first hide I left the cords in the final stage of the cache to the FTF prize, which was hidden away from the final stage of the multi. Mossy Pond Cache The FTF thought it was a real bonus to get the extra stage. The FTF prize was a collapsible hiking stick. I got rave reviews. On my second Hide I left the cords to the hiding location of an LED flashlight. It was well received also. The Nellie Cache I like leaving a nice FTF prize. And I spend a lot of time on making and hiding the caches I have hidden so far. I hide what I like to find. Multi-s, Puzzles and nice SWAG. Its worth the effort and I know others will enjoy the find. +Thrak
I like the idea of leaving a set of coordinates for a special cache that contains the actual FTF prize. Very nice. <Files the serial number off that one for future use> Quote Link to comment
+FourRiverRatz
I've only hidden 1 so far, and used a $2 bill...andnow think I will use that in all my future ones! Quote Link to comment
