Red Bay Rocket
What are most people in Newfoundland using for Cache containers. I have found that the new Folgers Aroma Seal coffee containers are awesome. What do you think? I know that I have found geocaches that have not made it through our harsh winters. I know some of mine haven't Red Bay Rocket Quote Link to comment
+VO2WW
I find that nothing beats the old standard, AMMO BOXES Quote Link to comment
+fizbot
or Lock-n-lock's. I've moved all my caches to them or Ammo cans... Everything else leaks or doesn't stand up to one of the seasons here. Quote Link to comment
+PDOP's
Lock-n-Locks may be weather proof but they're not critter proof. The squirrels got my new cache in a new Lock-n-Lock and trashed it. It's a 10k hike one way to replace this one Quote Link to comment
+C&C+COMPANY
Ammo boxes get my vote, Moose proof also Quote Link to comment

danoshimano
Not about containers, but my family and I have been planning a trip to Newfoundland for several years, and two years ago it morphed into a "geocaching" trip to Newfoundland. When I read some of the cache descriptions -- things like "walk a short way down the dirt road through the forest, when you see the lighthouse on the cliff..." and "seldom seen by tourists" -- I get goosebumps! +Team Geo Supremo
Nothing like a good ol' salt beef bucket. Check out "Salt Beef Junkie", (GC8304). It's been in place for 3 years now. Latest find indicates some dampness, but I'm thinking this is probably due to the cover not being replcaed properly. Happy Caching!! Quote Link to comment
+VO2WW
Almost impossible to eliminate the smell from a salt beef bucket to the point that the black bears won't chew on it but they do seem to have a following as containers, maybe the price is a factor *s* My biggest complaint is that they stand out too much and do not take paint well over the long haul. +Decodoppler
Bump... Is there no one from Newfoundland out there willing to share information? Quote Link to comment
+Newfiezedder
Wish I could help you out, unfortunately I am in Markham. Try sending a message to RangerBayman , he is a friend of mine that is in St. John's. Just say "Greg R" said you may have some recommendations for nice caches in the area Greg Quote Link to comment
+Vinnie001
As for tradional caches I find the quality lock-n-locks are great. I have also seen some great 2 - 2 1/2 inch bison tubes that are great all year micro's. Quote Link to comment
YoshiCJ
New site I found in Google search for geocaching Newfoundland. They seem to be putting up a shop locally here. http://www.geocachingnewfoundland.ca Quote Link to comment
