windswept
I have a Magellan Sport Track Pro, which was working perfectly when I last shut it down. I now cannot receive any satellites. Everything else works fine but NO RECEPTION. I have booted it, replaced the batteries and re initialised it. Still no joy. Any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
If after letting it run for a couple of hours it still can't get a lock, send it back for repair. Quote Link to comment
Nellies Knackers
If it has lost it's almanac info for any reason it will take anything up to 30 mins to get a fix and download new almanac details, if that is the problem leaving it on long enough to get a fix should sort it, but give it plenty of time. Alternatively try going outside and trying it! Quote Link to comment
windswept
Thanks, tried all these - still no luck - I get the feeling it's knackered. Quote Link to comment
DomHeknows
mine does that occasionally too - but after 20 or more reallllly loooooonnnnnnnng minutes it eventually decides it has found some sats afterall. No idea why it does it, but it tends to occur just as it gets a 3d lock then the satellites disappear off the screen but the bar graphs remain. Quote Link to comment
windswept
We have tried that too. I get the feeling the we have a a problem with the GPSR. Maybe it's not receiving.? Quote Link to comment
Flyfishermanbob
One last check....... You havent accidentally set it to "simulator mode" ? may be worth trying switching it on and off .... Quote Link to comment
DomHeknows
have you given it the 3 fingered salute? Quote Link to comment
The Forester
If it's still under guarantee, send it back for repair/replacement. If not, take a look inside for anything obvious like a disconnected antenna. Unlike the Garmins, this thing is easily dismantled (just six screws to undo instead of a weld) so you can take a peep inside to see if it's a simply fixable problem. Good luck with Magellan's after-sales service!! Cheers, The Forester Quote Link to comment
Slytherin
We have tried that too. I get the feeling the we have a a problem with the GPSR.Maybe it's not receiving.? That's a tough break. And with your local technical expert being 4000 miles away too. When I get back on Monday, you can borrow my spare. - Quote Link to comment

Fair to middling. Bagged 50 on the first day, 18 on the second but now theme parks have got in the way. Looks like my target of 100 in the week is going to be unattainable. - Quote Link to comment
