+Pepper
EraSeek I read the entire website and WOW that was some powerful stuff! She is one brave soul out on her mission. That's one place I would not go find a cache! Pepper Quote Link to comment
+EraSeek
I carry one of Fractals radioactive marbles around with me. Maybe I'll take it out of my front pocket . Yes a fascinating story. What a gal! Quote Link to comment
+LindaLu
Fascinating and very, very sad. It makes you wonder how close any of us are to something happening that suddenly makes everything else irrelevant. Thanks for sharing this link. Quote Link to comment
MarcusArelius
Yes, a very sobering story. I'm not sure if I would try a cache there but I sure wouldn't be doing any trading! Quote Link to comment
+Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
Well I'm old, how long can I expect to last anyhow? I need the numbers. Quote Link to comment
+travisl
Intersting note: the fourth-closest cache is WWII, which was last found by Northwest cacher Oly Sidewinder. It's about 59 miles away from Chernobyl. A disabled cache and a webcam cache are slightly closer, and one other physical cache is closer (at 54 miles away). No other caches within 100 miles of Chernobyl. Quote Link to comment
enigma4s
Thanks for sharing this site. I grew up in Europe and vividly remember when this happened. As soon as the 'outside' world learned of this tragic accident, we were no longer allowed to eat fresh vegetables and non-UHT milk. It was all very scary for us as they said we were in the 'fallout zone' even though we were living in East Germany (although the 'Western' part of it in that we were in West Berlin--the one little oasis of freedom in that entire country) several 1,000 km from Ground Zero. I find it rather interesting that Chernobyl is the name for Wormwood. What an odd connection with prophecy--it truly makes me wonder if that wasn't purely by chance? My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the friends, family & loved ones of the victims from this disaster. May they be blessed with love, mercy and strength to overcome all of the hardtimes they continue to face from this. Again, thanks for sharing. See you on the trails... enigma Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Yes I would go after it. I've even got a couple of geiger counters that I got off eBay a year ago for no particularly good reason. Quote Link to comment
+slinger91
I wouldn't refuse a ride on the back of that bike [] Quote Link to comment
