+New England n00b Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 The game, a treasure hunt created by users of global positioning units and the internet, is uniting techies and granolas worldwide. Hahahahahaha! Oh no... the world is about to end! That IS an excellent article... too bad for the DNF, but a great description of the sport. Thank you for the link! Quote
+TeamK-9 Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 That's actually the best unbiased description of geocaching I've read in a long time... Quote

The interview Geo Ho and I did for Play Magazine (New Haven, CT local rag) came out this week. Really great article, and awesome pics, but it's not on their website. Quote
+carleenp Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 Nebraskaland Magazine, which is published by the Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission, also just did an excellent and positive article. It is not online yet though. It hit the shelves yesterday. One of my caches was in the story. Quote
+wray_clan Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 Great article. Very well written. It's funny how the articles where the journalist caches are positive. Quote
+JMBella Posted April 8, 2004 Author Posted April 8, 2004 More good press. High-tech hunt. Enjoy! Quote

+javaman123 Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 There is a very nice article on Geocaching in today's Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Section E (Life and Arts), Page 1 or you can see the article online at http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/living/8383588.htm?1c In fact, I was at the pictured cache just last weekend! I left two travel bugs there and took a picture of myself with the disposable camera in the cache. Quote

I left two travel bugs there and took a picture of myself with the disposable camera in the cache. I was just about to post a link to that same article. It's one of the best written geocaching articles I've seen yet. This line kind of bothered me... Some jurisdictions have banned geocaching, usually because of the participants' propensity to go off trails Could have said that a little differently but it's not bad, I'm just nitpicking. (nitpicking is a very strange word) Quote
+jeff35080 Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 We had a nice newpaper article published this week here in central Alabama: Geocaching sends gamers on the trail of hidden goods Quote
uperdooper Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 at least they didn't say anything about caches being buried. Quote
+briansnat Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Another one. Geocashing???? I think they could use a new headline editor. Quote
AZcachemeister Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 I'm just nitpicking. (nitpicking is a very strange word) So what is a nit anyway? A nit is very tiny, and it's the egg of one of several louse species. They are usually (in mammalian situations anyway) attached to the base of a hair shaft. So, nitpicking would involve the careful inspection of every hair on the body (of someone you presumably care about) to remove said nits, so the person will at least be less infested with lice, and therefore have a better life. It seems that with recent advances in personal hygiene, nitpicking has gained a somewhat less favorable meaning than in the old days. Quote
