Bampson
Just received the update via email, and it's posted on Garmin's website. Guess I'll be the guinea pig to try it out with my new 60CS that just arrived this afternoon! Mapsource update EDIT:Guess this was just posted by someone else as well. robertlipe
# Updated MapSource to use the new GDB file format.# Added capability to import files from the old MPS file format and export GDB files to the old MPS file format. Anyone that actually has any clout with Garmin (their customers must, becuase their developers sure don't) that can encourage them to DOCUMENT THEIR FILE FORMATS greatly improves the chances of tools like EasyMPS and GPSBabel interoperating with Mapsend. +Harrald
After a few minutes playing with this update I'm very impressed. I like the ability to add categories to each waypoint. Quote Link to comment
+Andy and Robin
I found a glitch in this update today. I put it on my laptop which i use in the car hooked up to my Legend. When I started the Gps tracking the red arrow disappeared and so did my geocache waypoints. They would reappear sometimes when i stopped moving (the car). The map would scroll as if the red arrow were still centered on the screen. Every now and then I would see it or the caches blink on for a second. I reinstalled the 5.4 and all is well. mgabel
Do categories of waypoints (I take it this means something like subdirectories) carry over to the GPSr? Quote Link to comment

+Galbion
Okay, I hope I'm in the correct forum for this question of mine, but I'm still trying to figure out how everything works. I have this lovely Garmin GPSMAP 60c which I can manually add caches too but I cannot figure out how I can download these geocaches automatically from the website. Could someone please explain to me if I can a) download these points directly to my GPS via the USB connector, if I need a serial port connection to do this, and c) if I can't just download the geocache points into the mapsource program I have on my computer. I need help! yoikes what have I gotten myself into?! Quote Link to comment
+NimravusHSSR
The way I do it is to request a loc file from Geocache.com, 500 waypoints by zip code. They I use EasyMPS to convert it to an MPS file, which will open with Mapsource. Voila, a few seconds and 500 caces near that zip code in your 60c. Quote Link to comment

You will get lots of help and answers to your questions there. Cheers, Olar Quote Link to comment
