+Team BlackZ
The map on the cache pages, is there a way to use this map page to show more than one cache? Quote Link to comment
+Fritz_Monroe
If there's more than 1 cache within the confines of the map, it will display each of them. For example, this is Mt. Gretna. I plan on getting here some time, hopefully. F_M Quote Link to comment
+Bloencustoms
I don't think that's possible. I use Streets and Trips software to display all of the caches in my pocket queries on a map. It takes two other programs to make it happen, but the end results are pretty slick. Quote Link to comment

+Fritz_Monroe
Did I miss something? I thought he was jsut talking about the link on the cache page that says see map. Didn't think he was talking about a different program. Thanks for that info, though. Might just have to get some software. F_M Quote Link to comment
+Imajika
Yes, there is a way. On the main page, type in your ZIP code (or the ZIP you want to search around) and hit search. When the search results come up, you will see a little icone in the top right corner that says, "Map it". Just click on that and you will have the type of map you want. I also use Microsoft streets and trips when planning an outing though. I prefer the MS maps because they have more detail. But if you don't have streets and trips, this feature on gc.com will work just fine. Edited February 4, 2004 by Imajika Quote Link to comment

The ability to create files for S&T and upload to your GPS is great. It's appropriately named. Quote Link to comment
+Volwrath
Anyone know of an easy way in SA 2003 to keep the name from showing up beside the waypoint? You can change the size of the name, but I se no way to leave the name out Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
Clicking on the map on the cache page takes you to MapQuest. This will not give you the info you want. Instead, click on the link called 'Geocaching.com Maps'. This will give you a good map with all the local caches. Here's the map for WD's Original and surrounding caches. I typically take the S&T route to get this info and plan my adventures. Quote Link to comment

GSAK puts a windows sugar coating on that so people who don't know, or don't care to know about command lines can use GPSbable much more easily. Quote Link to comment
+ClydeE
True, GSAK does use GPSBabel - but I would like to think it is much more than a GPSBabel graphical interface. I would refer to it more as a "Geocaching waypoint management system" Feature list: General Features · Multiple cache databases · Import individual GPX files or a whole folder · Display cache offline in browser (live Internet connection not required) · Display cache online (uses a link to www.geocaching.com by default, but the URL is user configurable) · Comprehensive filters to search/select a subset of your data (subsets can be saved and restored) · Filters can be saved and reused · Export to the following formats: MapSend WPT, OziExplorer WPT, www.geocaching.com GPX and LOC format, Mapsource, Fugawi, Street Atlas, Pocket Streets, Microsoft Streets and Trips, Magellan Protocol (SD card), and National Geographic Topo. · Direct upload of waypoints to GPS receiver · Add "corrected coordinates" to a cache description · Customise cache description for offline HTML pages · User Notes (Watcher compatible). You can also import and export notes in text format · Ascending/descending sorting of columns in the offline database · Instant counts (colour coded) for found, not found, placed, and archived caches in the displayed database · Ability to set centre point for calculation of distance and bearing · Change column size of all browse view headings · Change column order of all browse view headings (just drag heading) · Repair and delete the database · Drag and drop support (including zipped files from www.geocaching.com) · File association support · PDA support: generate HTML files and indexes like GPX Spinner · UTM coordinates show in HTML view · Convert State names to abbreviations (Australian and U.S. State names and abbreviations provided by default) · Unicode conversion · LOC file support (from www.geocaching.com and from other sources) · Unlimited log history · Instant iconic views for Travel Bugs, cache type, user notes, and last four logs · Split screen view with four formats: full cache display, description only, logs only, or log summary · Quick Search: instant cache search on partial cache name · User flag for individual cache selection · Delete a cache: with an option to prevent next GPX load from re-adding it · Delete multiple caches, based on a filter · Identify your "Placed by" (hidden) caches using exact match, wild cards, or www.geocaching.com Owner ID · Identify and flag archived caches · Special WebCam cache support OziExplorer-Specific Features · View full cache information (right click on waypoint, choose "Open file attachment") · View full cache description (including cache type, terrain, and difficulty: just hover your mouse over the waypoint) · Ability to set colour for found, not found, placed, and archived caches · Ability to choose between cache code and cache name for the waypoint name · "Smart Name" generation for meaningful unique cache names to upload to your GPS receiver · Ability to set the length of the waypoint name · Ability to set different waypoint symbols in your GPS receiver for found, not found, placed, and archived caches · "Ozi Automation": GSAK can automatically start OziExplorer, and load the waypoints just converted · Generate OziExplorer waypoint files from offline view (only requires one file from www.geocaching.com then "slice and dice" using GSAK) · Position OziExplorer to position on map from browse view · Configure required option for "Open File Attachment" in OziExplorer Download here http://gsak.geocaching.com.au Quote Link to comment
