+Sparrowhawk Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 So what caches in our general area of our lovely Pacific NW are located on and/or near locations that make you say either "W.T.F.??!!" or at least "Heh! That's pretty unusual!" Quote
+Stump Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 (edited) This one in Raymond, WA and points east has an unusual spot at the end. I've done over 200 caches since this one and it's still one of my favorites. Half Moon Cache Edited January 25, 2004 by gaviidae Quote
+GEM's Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 I don't use the f word so I'd probably say...WOW that was fun!...but my favorite weird cache is the 2+ mile one way hike through the Snoqualmie Tunnel..."Mission 9: Tunnel of Light" ...in the dark, especially cool after midnight. Quote
+Team Maximus Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 The yearly champoeg event cache (or actually a series of event caches) would definately qualify as weird, crazy, cool, amazing....and pretty much any other adjectives you can come up with. Just read a little of the discussion here to see a glimpse of the mayhem to come in June. Quote

What's wrong with fudge? When I go to the Pacific Science Center I always stop in for some fudge. If I don't use the f word there, how will they know I want their fudge? Quote

I have to agree with Gem's on this one. When we found this cache, we didn't have a flashlight, so ended up hiking through (and back again) in the pitch dark. Now I know what it feels like to be completely blind . Even my dog was scared to death . My husband had to pick him up and carry him the whole way through and back. We had so much fun doing this cache. I can't wait to get up there and do it again. Quote
MarcusArelius Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 I like to get dropped of at Hyak at the east end of the tunnel and bike downhill all the way to NorthBend. There are several caches along the way on the Iron Horse Trail. I always debate wether to bring a coat for the tunnel and carry it the rest of the way or freeze for the first two miles in the tunnel. +runhills Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 MA, contact me when you do this ride; I would also like to do them all. Maybe we can con some transpertation from my better half! Quote

MarcusArelius Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 Hmm, I know what that's on but not where it is. I guess I'll have to do a little NavDog search. Quote

+Sparrowhawk Posted January 27, 2004 Author Posted January 27, 2004 I WONDERED about those wierd, wooden pipelines when I took my trip to Crater Lake 2 years ago! Definitely a "WTF?!" for me! They go from where to where? What's their history? Any web pages? Any maps on the pipeline routes? Quote
Moun10Bike Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 I've got to get down south to do that cache! It looks like a real gem! Quote
+bazzle Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 That is an AWESOME cache!!! One of the best I have done. The scenery is beautiful and the hike is great. I spent the day out their for my 40th birthday last year as a bit of a walking meditation. I agree with the others it is for sure top 10 material. Quote
