SBPhishy
I have a sportrak map which I like a lot. I have come upon a very slight problem in that the stress cracks which i have heard are kind of common have started to appear. you can see that thread here. This Thread I had commented in that thread as a joke that maybe I should buy another GPS to have while my sportrak is in the shop. I came upon this deal Right Here That has the Magellan Meridian Gold Traveler package which includes the new direct route software, an SD card, a vehicle mount thingie, and some other stuff. With the rebate, it ends up being 245$ which seems like a decent deal. Now, i guess i dont really need another toy, but it would be great not to have to be without my GPS at all since i have somehow managed to find time to cache almost everyday. Also, i have heard that the new Direct Route software is pretty cool, and since i'm the worst navigator in the world, it would be great to have. It comes with everything i would need, so i wouldnt have to spend those extra hundreds of dollars on all those accesories. Now, i realize that i'm an adult, and i can make my own decisions, but i'm sitting here at 1:20 am and i was curious what everyone else thought. So please, give me your opinions! Thank you! +Team GPSaxophone
That does sound like a good deal. My Etrex Venture is falling apart and I need something new. I just might go for the Gold myself! Edited January 17, 2004 by Team GPSaxophone Quote Link to comment
GeckoGeek
Should I buy another toy? What kind of question is that? The real question is "will my wife/SO kill me - will I end up on the street if I buy this toy?" Oh, wait, this is a GPS, you'll have to be "on the street" to play with it! Quote Link to comment
sagebrushgirl
I think you should do it. You need a backup, don't you? I bought DirectRoute for my Meriplat and I love it. --Sage Edited January 18, 2004 by asagebrushgirl Quote Link to comment
SBPhishy
Yeah, why not? I figured you all would tell me to buy it. I just wanted some more justification to spend money I dont really have. Now I can say, "all the people on the Groundspeak forums say I should get it". I did in fact order it a couple hours ago. Thanks everyone! Quote Link to comment

DomHeknows
just remember that its likely to cost an extra $50 as from what i've seen , and from my experience so far, you are unlikely to get the $50 rebate back from magellan. Quote Link to comment
Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
Congrats on having enough balls to buy a toy. It's important to have toys, helps you to remember why you go to work. Quote Link to comment
SBPhishy
The rebates usually always seem to come. They do tend to make you wait, and try to get out of sending you the rebate, but if you persisit, they will send it. I mean, it is 50 bucks! Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
I have a sportrak map...Should I buy another toy? No, you should buy a GARMIN instead! (Just teasin' - I couldn't resist!) Edited January 19, 2004 by Neo_Geo Quote Link to comment
phantom4099
If you ask Magllen real nice them may send a unit to you, then you can send your old unit in once you get the new one. Wyatt W. Edited January 19, 2004 by phantom4099 Quote Link to comment
SBPhishy
That would be cool. They would actually trust you enough? I suppose they would take your CC info and everything. Well, too late anyways... Quote Link to comment
