  1. Look at GCD362 Treasure and Scavenger Hunts... It's been there a long time and is one of Yellow Jacket's caches. https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCD362_treasure-and-scavenger-hunts
  2. I think you should do it. You need a backup, don't you? I bought DirectRoute for my Meriplat and I love it. --Sage
  3. The gadgets are fun, too. I think it's a combination of seeking, finding, hiding, hiking, and playing with gadgets. -- Sage
  4. I was using it to route me to places that I already knew how to get to, just to play with it, so I got where I was going in spite of the routing. In one case, it started out with the correct three streets and turns, then just skipped two streets and turns and told me to turn on a street that doesn't intersect. Another time, the first street/turn it told me to take was three miles away on a street I would need to travel south one mile, then turn left and drive two miles before I even reached. Another example was a left turn off of a street that doesn't intersect with it--once again, two streets and two turns just weren't listed in the route list. I'm not counting the streets that go straight and change names--I can deal with that so that isn't the issue. In all cases, I waited until I had a fix before hitting GoTo to start the routing. Also, in all cases when I tried it on my laptop, all the necessary streets and turns were included.
  5. I upgraded the firmware on my platinum, installed DirectRoute on my laptop, and downloaded a map region to the card. Several times, the street route on my plat just leaves out a turn or two. When I plot the same route on my laptop, all the turns are listed. Is anyone else having this problem? Any ideas?--Sage
  6. Magellan Meridian Green and a Platinum--ordered DirectRoute to use with the plat.
  7. When I first got my GPS, I went to find my first cache and wandered around trying to figure out which navigation screen to use. Needless to say, I didn't find that cache that day. I went home, walked up the street, set a waypoint, then went back home. I did a "go to" that waypoint, used the compass screen, and found my way to the corner. Not too challenging, but I did get the idea. I messed around like that a couple more times, figured out I needed to slow down so my readings could catch up to where I was, and then I was ready to find a waypoint that I didn't know where it was! When your GPS gets you close though, you just have to look for the most likely place and/or read the hint. Have fun! I love this game. --Sage
  8. Here's my Bobby: Bobby's been in chemo since late May, and he has stayed perky through it all. I love him and I appreciate being able to post his picture here.
