jollybgood
Sorry if someone already mentioned this -- I went through the threads since Thursday and didn't see any mention of it. Did anyone else watch Survivor thursday as they were looking for the buried cache of food and blankets? How many of you saw the tree (the Devil's Fork) and immediately thought the cache was hidden in the hollow of the tree?? The locations for Survivor usually become tourist attractions after the show airs -- somebody HAS to find that tree and put a geocache in it. Jolly R. +MountainMudbug
I wondered why nobody had mentioned this, too I laughed when they opened the chest and were disappointed with the contents for the most part. Some of the Survivors seemed to think there'd be a whole supermarket in there! With the way the show's been so far, I'm surprised little pygmy warriors didn't jump out of there and strip away what little clothing the contestants have left LOL Quote Link to comment
Polgara
I saw that episode...I'm wondering how many cachers would have been able to find that treasure without the third piece of map.... "The more I study nature, the more I am amazed at the Creator." - Louis Pasteur Quote Link to comment
mtn-man
There cannot be any geocachers on the Survivor crew. They didn't use any ziploc bags! mtn-man... admin brick mason "approver of all trades" -- per Woodsters Outdoors Quote Link to comment
Bull Moose
My wife said something like, "You can tell they aren't geocachers, they think once they get to the X on the map it's going to be easy to find." She has been watching me! ---Stats banner used to be here.--- Quote Link to comment
Kealia
Sorry I missed that! I was out of town and my Tivo thought I wanted to watch Looney Tunes instead!?!?!?! Quote Link to comment
geospotter
And true to geocaching style, the girl found the spot and the guy took the credit (twice). At least that's how it works in my family Quote Link to comment

Zartimus
Yeah, the dang tree was the most interesting feature there. I liked it when they edited the scene and slowed the frames down as they passed by the tree. Gee, ya think? And no baggies! What was Barnett thinking? (did they use ziplocks in the 1700's?) +MaxEntropy
When they opened the treasure chest, it was soggy and most of the contents were moldy. Gee, where have I seen that before? That's what they get for using the Gladware equivalent of a treasure chest. Did they think that the contents would stay dry underground in a chest with no seal? Next time...Tupperware. No geocachers on that staff obviously. Mickey Max Entropy More than just a name, a lifestyle. Quote Link to comment
TMAN264
Weird, I was thinking of caching during Survivor, but I thought it might be hidden in Rupert's skirt. Make a sanity check. Quote Link to comment
