+Jeepmadman
I was just wondering how long it took each of you to gett hooked on the sport Quote Link to comment
+Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
It took me 12 minutes exactly. That is how long it took me to read a newspaper article about it. Never Squat With Yer Spurs On Quote Link to comment
+Rooster-
I have always been hooked on geocaching. I just didn't know it. I love the woods and being outside. It only took the first cache and 5 months later we have 315 cache finds. I think I need caching rehab. Quote Link to comment
+Snowtrail
I heard a story on NPR about "weird websites" and then checked it out. By scanning the first page, I was hooked. I didn't own a GPS at the time, and ordered one the same day - just to geocache. Quote Link to comment
TripleMCachers
The minute I stumbled upon the website I was looking for some info on something else and found GeoCaching.com....Read a bit and that was it...I couldn't wait to get my GPS and get started. Holly Selden TripleMCachers Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
I read about geocaching.com in the "This is True" newsletter (www.thisistrue.com) where the webmaster mentioned that his "Get out of Hell Free" cards were popular items to leave in geocaches. One visit to this site and then it was on to GPS shopping. My Garmin V arrives on Monday. My daughter and I have already logged our first cache even without a GPS unit. You really do just need to follow the clues and think, "where would I hide something?" This will be a great outdoor activity for me and my 8 yr old who loves "treasure hunting". Quote Link to comment
+Team Hoijong
I bought a second hand gps unit and since there was no manual i was looking on the web for some information on GPS and GPS units.. After a few sites i came to the website of well known geocacher "Markwell" from that site i first read about Geocaching.. After reading some cache pages and the log's in it.. I looked up if there were any Caches in the area i live in.. Took me a few hours of reading logs and cache pages before i got hooked Irresisti N12º 55.475 E100º 52.865 Quote Link to comment

Steak N Eggs
The wife pushed me into it. So we bought a gps and went on our first hunt in Oct of last year. Now we go every chance we get, but I think I am getting a little more picky about the caches we hunt, but still hooked like a 300lbs halibut..... +#9
I was hooked as soon as my mom took me along with her. I knew I had to have a gps of my very own, so I ordered one. Had to wait FOREVER for it to arrive and have been loving geocaching ever since. Now, if only I could get my husband to enjoy it... Quote Link to comment

King Pellinore
definitly my kind of thing, so you could almost say I was hooked before I knew about it. It was rather an instantaneous rush when Macro started telling me about it... King Pellinore Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
It took finding the first cache. Getting skunked first didn't hurt any. It made finding it all the better. Quote Link to comment

+phantom4099
I am still not totally hooked enough around my area to be totally hooked). But I look at the cache page before I go out of town to see if there is any near my destination. I stumbled on the web site a few years ago (I think it was that long ago) when I was looking for games that you could put in a GPS (like Tetris or any thing). I did a quick search, and found that there were no caches for hundreds of miles around me. I forgot about this page until clayjar posted a review about the meridian (I had one on order at the time, but I wanted to know allot about it). Wyatt W. CourtneyP
It took me to get off my lazy patoot and outdoors to know that this was a good thing. A *great* thing, at that. I've been outdoors more than I have in a long time... and by choice! Quote Link to comment
