Bulsara54 Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Hi everyone. It's been months now that I have those issues with Geocaching.com website and Google Chrome. Those issues are : -When I click on the map on "browse geocaches", I have a white screen instead of the map. - When I'm on a cache page, I don't have the upperside of the screen (with my account and my profilepic) and I can't see the logs at the bottom of the page. I erased my browsercache, I have the last version etc... I dont'have that problem on Firefox for example. Can you help me please? Thanks ! Quote
Erbspueree Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Hello, I have the same issues.. I have to reload the pages again and again - and sometimes they load properly and I can do everything, many times it loads only halfway and I cannot use certain functions such as personal notes or changing the coordinates. No solution yet.. Quote
MartyBartfast Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 I can't really help, but I just tried on Chrome (Version 128.0.6613.84 on Linux) and I don't have these problems so I would suggest clearing your caches and cookies and trying again. Or if you have any addons/plugins/userscripts enabled then try disabling them. Quote
Bulsara54 Posted August 27, 2024 Author Posted August 27, 2024 Already done the clearing caches and cookies and still no result unfortunately Quote
Bulsara54 Posted August 27, 2024 Author Posted August 27, 2024 Ooooohhhhh got an idea : it seems that it was because I refused cookies (except for necessary ones) : I've accepted all cookies and now it seems working... Let's see if it works on the long run... You can find it in "Settings" (right of your profilepic) Then "Privacy->cookies" 1 Quote

I'm not overly familiar with internals of cookies and if there exist a clear definition what can be defined individually as "necessary" but accepting *all* cookies can not and should not be accepted as a solution to this problem IMNSHO. 3 1 Quote
Bulsara54 Posted August 29, 2024 Author Posted August 29, 2024 I can't agree more with you and hope the devteam will find a way to fix it... Quote
Palmarna Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 Any solution to this? I have the same problem Quote
APPC Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) I have the same problem and no solution. Accepting all cookies doesn't work for me. Chrome ist auf dem neuesten Stand Version 129.0.6668.90 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit) Edited October 8, 2024 by APPC Quote
Carca Joue Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Any news on this ? Have the same problem with Chrome. No issue with Edge. Quote
CAVinoGal Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 I reported the same issue with Chrome in July of this year - I have been using Edge for anything geocaching related and it seems to be working just fine. I prefer Chrome, and use that for my email and other internet browsing, but I've switched to Edge for geocaching, simply because it works, and Chrome does not. Quote
Damned Rodan Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 I'm having this issue on both Chrome and Firefox. If I clear browsing data, the cache page will display normally, but I have to do this EVERY time I go to a cache page. I set all cookies so they should be accepted for geocaching.com, and it makes no difference. Let's get on the ball with this please, as this issue completely inhibits the site's functionality. Quote
ivans Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 It's frustrating to have to use Shift+F5 to force an update every time I visit a page on www.geocaching.com, especially since this issue doesn't occur on other websites. I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome on Windows 10, and this bug has been ongoing for several months now. It would be helpful if a representative from Groundspeak could respond with some advice or an update on when this issue might be resolved. 1 Quote
ivans Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 It looks like the only solution to this problem is to enable ALL COOKIES, as someone already stated. Then the site works without the constant need to refresh every page. The query on what cookies we want to enable is therefore formal. 1 Quote
