Can no longer right-click and paste into search box

This is annoying... I've always been able to go to search and then right-click and past a GC or a coordinate and it's just fine. Now it looks like right-click in that field no longer gives "Paste" as an option. Fortunately Ctrl-V still works. Was this done intentionally? If so, why?

Still doesn't work. I generally don't like it when a website "manipulates" my right-click-options. Ctrl-V works fine, but paste by right-click doesn't.

The 'text-based right-click functions' (TBF: cut, copy, paste, select all) seem to be activated by the presence of text in the search box.

 

Type something in there, and the functions show up.

 

Standard selective TBF implementation, if it's used and not just 'always present' follows rules like:

• If there's text in the space, allow cut, copy & maybe 'select all'.
• If the clipboard isn't empty, allow paste.

Seems wrong to me. Where's the problem? GS' web programming? Browser interface?

 

Or, some powerful luddite like me (usually) who doesn't trust mice and thinks everyone should still rely completely on keyboards.

Guess I'm one of those Luddites who eschews mice in favor of the keyboard as well!  Hubby is always frustrated when trying to use my laptop because I have no mouse.

As a workaround until a fix is implemented, you should get text-based functions if you right-click the empty search box at the very beginning (where the placeholder text starts).

In Windows, ctrl+P is a print request.
