cooperdog
Just bought a few nice ammo boxes from Sir Plus in Woodinville. Not to bad price wise...5 bucks a piece FYI for 7.62 mm boxes the smaller ones Quote Link to comment
Bad Dog 1762
They must have finally got some in, I checked last year and they only had one very dented one! Nice to hear there is one closer! Quote Link to comment
slinger91
7.62mm is nice, but I prefer the 5.56mm NATO ammo cans. [] Quote Link to comment
leatherman
F.Y.I. Mr Snazz has banned ammo boxes. I hope you can return them. I am the result of genetic manipulation of superior Geocacher DNA. Faster, stronger with superior reasoning and logic. Mokita! Quote Link to comment
Peanuthead
Due to the controversy surrounding the use of Ammo Boxes as cache containers, Cachew Nut recently posted that he no longer uses Ammo Boxes. He says he now uses Mortar Tubes. Quote Link to comment
Renegade Knight
Some of those first aid boxes are just as metal, just as big, and just as green. They are twice as expensive but at least you can say "I'm not using an ammo box" ===================== Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
cooperdog
What is the controversy over using ammo boxes? That's the first i've heard of the matter. Quote Link to comment
Mr. Snazz
Some backwoods law enforcement officers have discouraged their use, since they can be mistaken as being dangerous somehow. A bomb or something. Who knows. There was also a silly thread in the General forum, in which some moron suggested banning ammo boxes and gave rather lame reasons. Bottom line, they are great containers, and people need to lighten up and not freak out when they accidently find one burried in a tree trunk. Quote Link to comment
pdxmarathonman
quote: some moron suggested banning ammo boxes I saw that thread. I am so glad there are no morons like him here in the NW forums. Man, what a moron that guy was. I have yet to figure out why an ammo box is considered dangerous. Criminy, they sell 'em at GI Joes (and places with better prices). Quote Link to comment
bazzle
Sell them? Heck at $1.99 each they practically give them away at Post Exchange. Cheaper than Rubbermaid... My mind not only wanders... Sometimes it leaves completely... **Namaste** Quote Link to comment

Yeah, Doug and knighttemplar went to Sgt. Gator's two weekends ago. Knighttemplar got several ammo cans for $2 a piece. They heard the guy behind the register tell another customer that they had 8,000 of them. Sounds like plenty to get us through the summer, anyway.
