+BCandMsKitty Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 New to Geocaching found 4 so far with my Girlfriend hence the double name! Live on the Isle of Thanet in Kent the UK! Greetings from Chatham-Kent (formerly Kent County) in Ontario, Canada. Here I was thinking ... they probably don't have many caches on some small island in the UK, until I looked it up on Google Earth. You're not actually on an island, and you have TONS of caches! Welcome to the game, and have fun! BC Quote
+The A-Team Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Here I was thinking ... they probably don't have many caches on some small island in the UK, until I looked it up on Google Earth. Yep, you can't make assumptions about islands. I live on an island, but it's half the length of Great Britain and has over 13000 caches! Quote

Yeah, but when you say Vancouver Island, it really IS an island! Isle of Thanet, according to Google Earth, is part of the mainland of England, and not what I'd call ...... oh never mind . But maybe there's a canal or something that makes it a Island. But then again, I love the British way of saying things, and naming things, and maybe it's that. I hope MikeyBeeandKatieGee comes back and can laugh at me. Quote
+speakers-corner Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Some years back (before my time) Thanet was an Island, separated from the mainland by a 600m Channel (so says wiki). Anyway thats not interesting. Welcome to the game and have fun looking for Tupperware and the sorts of. Quote
