+The_Incredibles_
Does the term "geo-date" only apply if the person you're caching with is a romantic interest or can it apply to platonic relationships? We use a term here "play-date" for our kids. I'm wondering if the term "geo-date" is similar. Quote Link to comment

I had a geo-date with a couple of people in Zurich. Would that be a geo-threesome? Quote Link to comment

Jayme H
LOL! Cute! I'm gonna start using this new vocab word on my geo-husband. I think you can go either way with it - romantic or platonic. I can totally hear myself inviting some friends over for a puzzle solving geo-date. Quote Link to comment
+The_Incredibles_
Have you been invited on one and are trying to figure out what the expectations are? I wish. I'm afraid Mr Incredible frowns on me dating other people. The reason I ask is I went caching with someone today and being that we have a mutual friend, I was wondering if it would be appropriate for me to say 'I had a geo-date with so-and-so' without it sounding kinky. With that avatar, you're worried about appearing kinky? You can't get around the ambiguity of "a date." Yes, it can mean something like appointment/get-together/meeting/meeting time, etc. Obvously that's how it's meant with kids. Although even there I heard someone of the senior-generation speak, and I could tell they thought "play-date" was like a pseudo-"date" for a toddler-age boy & girl. "Date" is tied in enough with romance that I almost only use it in that sense. Something like "geo-date" can always be used with a smile - or to definitely indicate a romantic time together. In the latter case, avoid LPC's and references to "lifting skirts" - at least on the first "geo-date." Edited October 18, 2013 by wmpastor Quote Link to comment
