+Mr. Wilson & a Mt. Goat
Religious , political caches are not allowed according to the 'Guidelines' What about a trackable that has extreme religious writings attached ? should this be reported / removed ? I'd say they shouldn't be allowed. The same religious, political, agenda type guidelines should apply to TB's as well. Edited April 1, 2013 by Mr. Wilson & a Mt. Goat Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
Travel bugs do not follow a review process. Follow me here, you do not get to trash a tb just because it is controversial, gc.com decides. Talk to Eartha or contact@geocaching.com. Quote Link to comment
+J Grouchy
Curiosity got the best of me...so is this the one that has a tiny copy of the Bible attached? "Extreme"? Really? Was it a decoy for something else? Was it misrepresented in any way in the photo? I was expecting something like a Westboro Baptist screed or something from a fringe group. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Don't read too much into, or out of the guidelines. If you read 'agenda' guideline (religion and politics are 'agendas'), it addresses caches -- so it doesn't apply to trackables or SWAG, only caches. Or are you wanting to make an apple out of an orange? Quote Link to comment

+Repsov
I was also somewhat intrigued by this this thread. So backtracked and found out what the fuss was all about. All it is a copy of the worlds best selling book. It has been in circulation since 2004 Which for a TB is a long, long time. The book in question has been around just a little bit longer. All the owner does is makes a suggestion that you read it. The choice is yours. The TB has been treated with respect perhaps because of what it is. How many others last that long? I was going to release a TB called ' Go to Church ' Why? Because we have a series over 2000 in number called Church micros. Where are they hidden? Near churches of course. the TB's mission mission would be to visit them. I forgot to check if the original poster had logged any. These places may be extremely religious!! As for my TB remove it immediately it's blatant Evangelism. The poster is a former mountaineer. In this case I feel one has been made one out of a mole hill. Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
Wow, what a great idea for a travel bug! Does anyone know a good source for miniature Bibles that will hold up well as travel bugs? How do you attach the Bible to the TB tag securely but without ruining the book? I would love to find this TB so maybe I will send some out for others to find and move along. I agree that the Bible is an extreme book. It's been EXTREMELY helpful to me. I read it every day, and teach it to others once each week. Quote Link to comment

Miniature bibles can even be found on ebay and already have a chain or loop for attachment to something. But they'd probably have to be placed in a large bison or similar to stay dry. Some (gxproxy) let you personalize the outside and that might work to allow others to know what's inside. Waterproof bibles can be found online also (CJ has one, thick pages and tiny print), but I know (she) hasn't found any in miniature. Edited April 2, 2013 by cerberus1 Quote Link to comment

There's nothing wrong with having an issue with a TB. If I found a porn traveler I'd report it. And I have. I'd do the same for a KKK tb, but I would wait for a response from gc.com. If I disagreed with their response to maybe keep it in circulation, we would part ways. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have a problem with that. edit n't Edited April 6, 2013 by BlueDeuce Quote Link to comment

But hey, the written word can be subjective I guess. Let's not open the can of worms that is critique of the bible. The question at hand is whether or not religio-political literature is an acceptable TB. Personally, I'd err on the side of caution and say no. Also, I believe you meant equate. Equivocate is something else entirely. Quote Link to comment
