  1. An interesting selection of responses. For me Geocaching is a fun thing I do. Either with my Grandchildren or when I have a little free time. It is not my life. It's a game a hobby and not important. just FUN. All I wanted to do was find a way to recognise and say thank you to those who write a little more than TFTC. As an aside a question: Do the figures at the bottom of the contributing posts represent the number of posts they have made? eg 1234 posts If the answer is yes .I'll follow it with another question: Do you actually have time to go caching?
  2. I suspect this has been covered in the past. If we can award a favourite point to a cache. Why is it not possible to award a favourite point for a great log to a cache that I own?
  3. Ever since the update several weeks back I am unable to access any of the additional data eg: Maps badges ect. All I now get is the Catherine wheel waiting. I am also unable to authenticate my account. I have tried previous hints, cancelling the authorisation and then re starting. Removing the code from my profile and then replacing it. . Logging completely out of my account and shutting down my computer. Even removing cookies and trackers has failed. Nothing seems to have worked. Am I the only one with this problem? If I'm on the wrong topic page could some one redirect me.

    Favourite logs

I suspect that this has been raised in the past. We can give out Fav points to caches we visit. Is it possible as a cache owner to give fav points to peoples logs? I've only set 5 caches all have fav points and some have had some cracking logs. 12.05 am to claim a FTF and a day in August with a great back story as well. That's commitment. But I can't reward that. Then of course we'd want a badge for it as well .
  5. Repsov = my surname spelt backwards. Simple really
  6. Yikes! Man, I don't like scrolling through pages and pages of Visit logs to see whether the traveler has met its goal or just to see where it has actually been. I wish people wouldn't do this. I personally enjoy seeing a TB on the move. Be it dipped or dropped. I feel its far better than just sitting in a cache going no place. Or having been retrieved sitting in a back pack in the back of a car . But hay ho it's only a game and every one to his own. Greetings from the UK.[]
  7. Thanks for a little perhaps unintended tip. About watching TBs. I have friends and we watch each others TBs to see what they are up to. But I like the concept of following the high mileage ones that pass through our hands. In the past I would just watch a Cache and TB and see if it was picked up and dropped of again. Once it had moved a couple of caches or so I'd stop watching.
  8. I've recently had a * appear in my inventory next to a TB that I've had for a while. Stating that it had been inactive for 14 days.( My longest slump was only 13 days long. Over 12 months ago?) could I either move it on or as a courtesy contact the owner if I had lost it. At the risk of being pedantic. Please could someone define the words active and inactive for me. If I had just keep the TB and done nothing at all, that would be inactive. The odds are also very high that if that was the case. I properly wouldn't be writing this post. However, whilst accepting I've had it longer than I should, 6 weeks. I've taken 3 relevant photos, added many miles and dipped over 60 caches. That in my mind is not inactive. The request was not owner generated, as I had a very nice reply from them. As for the TB I'm now going to drop it off at an Event cache this weekend.
  9. In my part of the UK we have a number of caches called 'King of the Swingers' these involve climbing ropes and trees. I'm nearly 60 and took up caching with my grandchildren I confess I've now done more on my own than with the children. I know where at least 2 of these trees are. I could go there and count them as a find. There is no way would I climb them. I won't even mark them as a DNF. But when Ground speak establish a new log of 'Too frightened to attempt' That's what I'll log. It also includes muggle invested bus stops etc.
  10. The next time you find a TB that hasn't a picture on it's home page. Check and see if there are any photos in their gallery. If there are. The chances are that they didn't click the ' make this my default' button and ended up with the photo in the gallery. I've done that and it was only through this forum that I found out how simple it was to correct my error. Another thought is treat cachers like you'd like to be treated. I've only had 4 photos on all of my TBs. Too which I've dropped a mail and said thank you. The same goes for people who move them on. I don't know how many TB's I've dipped and added photos to. But I do know how many replies I've had....... I currently have one in a race wanting points for visits and photos. Which I've done. I emailed the owner with a question. Have I had a reply?........ Lets be the happy smiley ones who post photos, say thank you. And even put more than TFTC on a log. You never know it might just catch on.
  11. Thank you. All sorted, easy when you know how.
  12. Just a quick enquiry. I didn't post a photo on my TB's home page. I put in my gallery by mistake. Is there a way I can turn a gallery photo into my default photo.
  13. I was also somewhat intrigued by this this thread. So backtracked and found out what the fuss was all about. All it is a copy of the worlds best selling book. It has been in circulation since 2004 Which for a TB is a long, long time. The book in question has been around just a little bit longer. All the owner does is makes a suggestion that you read it. The choice is yours. The TB has been treated with respect perhaps because of what it is. How many others last that long? I was going to release a TB called ' Go to Church ' Why? Because we have a series over 2000 in number called Church micros. Where are they hidden? Near churches of course. the TB's mission mission would be to visit them. I forgot to check if the original poster had logged any. These places may be extremely religious!! As for my TB remove it immediately it's blatant Evangelism. The poster is a former mountaineer. In this case I feel one has been made one out of a mole hill.
  14. I've just released a TB with the name 'Make a Bolt for it.' It is a small bolt for a door. It has two missions one hard and one easy. The easy one just visit as many caches as possible. The hard one, to dip and visit those wonderful high Muggle density caches such as 'Side Tracked' near railway station or ' Off your Trolly' found normally in Supermarket car parks. Stealth is required for these. Panic or be discovered may cause you to want to make a bolt for it. So here's the bolt!
  15. Just a quick thaught, check the previous logs. Have bugs gone missing from this cache, is a bug still recorded as being in place and then when you arrive nowhere to be found. If the answer is yes to either. Think before you drop one off.
  16. I'm a newbie to this great game. So please forgive me if this question has been asked before. I understand that a cacher can carry a traveller from cache A to B. B to C ect in order to give it extra miles and then eventually drop it of some place. Is there an ethic relating to the size of cache? I can visit nano or small cache but not be able to drop it of at that point.
