+niraD
According to section 4 of the geocaching.com terms of use, "You agree not to: [...] (m) Publish, on any Groundspeak owned web property, the solutions, hints, spoilers, or any hidden coordinates for any geocache without consent from the cache owner." However, here are some general puzzle tips (based in part on a puzzle-solving class event presented by The Rat a while ago): Identify the theme. Check the cache title, the hint, the HTML source, the graphics (including names/URLs), any links (including URLs), whatever is at the posted coordinates, etc. If you can figure out the theme, then you should look for numbering systems that are associated with that theme (zip codes, athletes’ jersey numbers, episode numbers, product codes, etc.). Around here, coordinates will have 15 digits, and will look like "N 37° xx.xxx W 122° xx.xxx". So when I'm solving a nearby puzzle, I look for a group of 15 things, and then I look for ways to get the digits 37xxxxx122xxxxx from them. In general, I look for ways to get the number 37 (or the digits 3 and 7) from something near the beginning of the puzzle, and the number 122 (or the digits 1, 2, and 2) from something near the middle of the puzzle. (Of course, you'll need to adjust this for the coordinates near you.) +markcase
Thanks for all the help with this puzzle question. I am moving the topic to the How do I...? forum where it can get more attention and a better fit of a topic. Mark Case Education Forum Moderator Quote Link to comment
7rxc
That was fun... time to solving coordinates AND the GC about 45 seconds including reading the post and OP profile. Good luck to OP on achieving stated career path! Often thought that would have been interesting, but too late to go that route now. +GeePa
What a great puzzle idea. I have not seen one like this before in my area. Very clever. The hint does give it all away. Quote Link to comment

I disagree on it not working for all coords though obBLgShEZI M3Su Quote Link to comment
+cwgrizz
To the OP. I find some puzzles fun and some frustrating. I am not usually very good at solving these puzzles (I guess I have lived a very sheltered life out in the middle of nowhere. ) Saying all of that, I have read the Puzzle 101, etc and have solved basic puzzles and then progressed to some a little more difficult. The more I solve, the easier some get (there are still many that I don't have a clue on how to solve, YET! ) Solve the ones you can and save the others for later. Google can be your friend in solving puzzles sometimes. Other times like was mentioned in a earlier post, it can just be deductive reasoning by knowing what the approximate values of the coordinates need to be and looking for clues. Puzzles are for fun and the enjoyment for those who like a challenge. Good Luck By the way, I solved this one too, but I had to go to the cache page and read the hint. Ha! Quote Link to comment

+Cardinal Red
..... I found it today! Congrats on your find. Some puzzles I get right away. Some I never get. And some I look over and over till all of a sudden the light comes on. Just solve the ones you can and don't be so hard on yourself. Quote Link to comment
