+Roman! Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Well, the old beta maps would not load on my iPad so when these new maps did I thought cool but noooooooo, can't click on a cache to get the info. Can you? Quote
+CarlottaP Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I experience the same problem. Using my iPad, when I press on the cache icon, no cache information comes up. Quote

ao318 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I initially thought that was the way it was going to be on the maps until I opened them on my laptop and was able to get the cache name there. Not too user friendly when you can't pull up the name of the cache on the map to get any info on it. Quote
+Clemdoog Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Yea same issue on my ipad2, iphone4 or my fiancés iPhone4s They all had issues loading the caches and their information when it was on the beta maps but at least you had the option to go back to the old maps which it did work on. I hope this is sorted soon rather than later :s Quote
+Walts Hunting Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 There is another thread saying they font work on any device not just mobiles Quote

Can you? they don't work on computers either. maps are pretty much useless I can get most maps to work on my Mac, just not the satellite view which I did use a lot. The old beta maps didn't load on my iPad but now they do (except satellite), the problem with the iPad is I can't tap on a cache to get it's info so they are still useless for the iPad. They only maps that would were on the iPad were the old original ones but now they are gone. Quote
+equalrights4archies Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Won't work on iPad. Maps load fast enough but you can't click on a cache for info, as noted in previous post....anybody found a way around this? I understand why we can't have google maps as integrated as they were before, but can we at least get the old "return to traditional map" mode from before maps beta went live, until the new maps work better on mobile devices? +TheLoneGrangers Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 try downloading the app geobucket. its actually pretty cool. Quote

+Team Taran Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 The app uses the Geocaching API. It should be safe to provide your credentials. Quote

Herengeo That app is mentioned on geocaching.com's API page: http://www.geocaching.com/live/default.aspx I use it and I've never had any problems related to the credentials. Quote
