+Ry Dawg
Howdy. I'm compiling a list of historical caches around my area; ghost towns, abandoned railroads, WWII camps, etc. I have a cache that fits into this category. Is it okay to put my own cache on the list for others to find? Or is that considered bad form? It's not to advertise it; it's simply because the cache is indeed historical. Let me know what y'all think. Thanks in advance. Quote Link to comment

Your list is informational and if I was looking for historical caches I'd want to know about your cache as well. Quote Link to comment

+Team Shiney
Hey if it fits your lists plan go for. I have a list much like this, it is great to see someone else interested in history. Nothing wrong with pushing you own hides either. Quote Link to comment
knowschad
Absolutely OK! If I were perusing a list like that, my only reason would be to find cool historic cache sites. If you had one that fit and you didn't list it, the list would be incomplete for me, right? Quote Link to comment
+The_Incredibles_
Sounds fine to me. Quote Link to comment
Narcosynthesis
If it fits the theme, go for it. Especially with something like a historical based cache, it is pretty obvious whether it is a list created to try and get visits to otherwise uninteresting caches, or as an attempt to create something interesting - if you are putting the effort into the caches as you are the list, then I see no problem whatsoever. +Michaelcycle
I don't think he'll mind my citing this example. Briansnat's list of caches near historical sites in New Jersey is: HERE Good stuff for those of us that love history. So, go for it! Quote Link to comment

+niraD
Putting your own cache on a "historical caches" list is fine. Putting your own cache on a "the most awesome caches in the world" list might seem a bit tacky... Quote Link to comment
