Howdy. I'm compiling a list of historical caches around my area; ghost towns, abandoned railroads, WWII camps, etc. I have a cache that fits into this category. Is it okay to put my own cache on the list for others to find? Or is that considered bad form? It's not to advertise it; it's simply because the cache is indeed historical. Let me know what y'all think. Thanks in advance.

I don't find it remotely tacky to put your cache on the list if it's historical. Your list is informational and if I was looking for historical caches I'd want to know about your cache as well.

I think it's perfectly fine and not inappropriate in the least. As a side note I think it's very cool of you to compile a list like that.

Hey if it fits your lists plan go for. I have a list much like this, it is great to see someone else interested in history. Nothing wrong with pushing you own hides either.

Absolutely OK! If I were perusing a list like that, my only reason would be to find cool historic cache sites. If you had one that fit and you didn't list it, the list would be incomplete for me, right?

Especially with something like a historical based cache, it is pretty obvious whether it is a list created to try and get visits to otherwise uninteresting caches, or as an attempt to create something interesting - if you are putting the effort into the caches as you are the list, then I see no problem whatsoever.

I'd love to use a list like that, but the whole list is very biased towards North Jersey.
