+DsrtMtnRox Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I want to get my cousin a 100 find Geo-Achievement Coin but I don't know what say on the engraving. Is there anything traditionally said or does anyone have any good suggestions? I'm still kind of new to geocoins (I can feel an addiction coming on) and would appreciate the help. Quote
+TreasureKid's Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 If you take a look at our 100 find coin TB3QW6M it shows what we do. Our 250 find coin is also released with the same type of engraving and our 500 find coin will be ready sometime next week. It is our name, the date of the find and the GC#. HTH Quote
+AtlantaGal Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Lots of people put the GC# of the milestone cache or the Caching name of the person the coin is for. Quote
+G & C Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 What they said. Mine have my geocaching name, the date of the find, and where the find was (all of the GC titles have been too long!). Quote
CW88 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 On my 100 and 250 find coins I had my geocaching name and the country it was found in. I'm hoping to try and have a different country for each coin - hopefully will get my 500th later this year. Quote
+DsrtMtnRox Posted October 9, 2011 Author Posted October 9, 2011 Thank you for the suggestions. I originally was going to order it for her because she is "getting close" to her 100th find....probably why I drew a blank on what to write on the coin.... Thanks you all of you for getting the common sense going in me again, I will wait until she hits her 100th since we are usually together when she is geocaching, and then put the cache info on the coin. Thanks again!! Quote
+Frozen Buns Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 When you decide on what you like engraved on it feel free to contact us GxProxy.com, as we can make a single coin trackable for you. And replace it if it evers goes MIA. We currently offer the Cacheaversaries in Whistles and Carabiners, tracking is optioonal but I will ask Chris Mackey to design Replicoins that can be ordered with the cachers Geonick. Love the idea of a coin to help celebrate. Quote

+fuzziebear3 Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Where do you get them engraved? One of mine I ordered plain and took to Things Remembered to get it engraved. That was the expensive way about it. One of the vendors offers engraving when you order it -- Look for them, it is quite reasonable and it is a nice job, and no extra effort for you. Quote
+CCWelch Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Since they know their own caching name (and they may change it) I generally put the GC code of the milestone cache and the date it was found. Quote

Actually there are 2 vendors that will do the engraving for you and it is much more reasonable than going to "Things Remembered " (I too have made that expensive mistake) one vendor is in the United States and the other is in Germany I believe. +CoinsAndPins Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Hello, To answer your question about engraving, you can get Geo-Achievement coins engraved from: www.CoinsAndPins.com shop.SpaceCoastGeocachers.com www.CacheBoxstore.com www.GeocoinShop.de These are all lower cost alternatives than to going to a local engraving shop. There may be a few other distributors who do engraving on Geo-Achievement coins, but these are the only ones I know of at this time. Quote

+sheltiedogshowlover Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 My husband got me a great engraved 30th birthday coin (that he hid in an unoffcial "cache" in our yard I had to search for. It was the best present I got last year. :-) Quote
