SkiBums (UK) Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Since the upgrade all my cache pages that used to have a background image (under the cache page) iykwim, are now appearing underneath the cache page txt making it really hard to read...... Is the only way to change this to remove the image? Also is the an adv.ance search option on the front page still? Quote
mlrs1996 Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 i just noticed that and had actually come over here to post it it makes it hard to read the writing on the actual cache page Quote
tlfought Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Yea this is very annoying. And also, the html formatting I had in place is no longer working as I had originally designed it. Quote
Raver Dave Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Theres been lots of people making this complaint on the main update thread, have to say I can't see the problem, I've checked loads of pages with backgrounds on both the pc, laptop and ipod and they are all perfectly readable. Quote
The Blorenges Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 It would be best to add your comments over in the geocaching.com site update 4th May 2011 topic. Many people are finding the new translucent cache pages annoying and OpinioNate is watching that topic and will probably add comments or replies too. MrsB Quote
mcwomble Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Also is the an adv.ance search option on the front page still? Sort of ... but you have to access it via the Play/Hide & Seek a cache/ menu option Quote
Pharisee Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 I've noticed this is a problem with the two LQ caches that I have. Until they've sorted it, I've edited out the background web page. When it's sorted, I'll re-instate it. Quote
The Chaos Crew Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I've got to say I quite like the translucency - and the fact there is now more of the background image showing at the sides - it works well on most pages I've seen with background imagery. But I know it has messed up a lot of puzzle caches with hidden white text, which is a pity. Quote
juliadream Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I put a background image on one of my caches and was disappointed that so little was showing. Seems much better with the new layout, and you can get rid of of it by selecting "print". Obviously with the cache owners to regularly maintain their cache description as well as the physical cache. +Unobtainium Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 There is a suggestion to make the transparent background optional in the feedback forum If you like this idea, go and vote Quote
Team Noodles Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 well, its actually working as intended now, shame eh? Quote
