Team Misguided
Many of the people who post in the other Coming to the NW thread do so asking for tips for caching while at ports of call on their Alaskan Cruise. I decided it might be nice to split that out into a separate topic to make it easier for visiting cachers to find cruise specific information. Quote Link to comment

+Team Catahoula
Leaving from Seattle 8-12. Juneau,Skagway,Tracey Arm Fjord. I see there's an Earth cache in Tracey Arm. Quote Link to comment
+WeightMan
I assume you have the Northwest Classics bookmark list. That will get you a number of caches to do around the Seattle area. Unfortunately you leave on a Friday. The Lily Pad is open for cachers to visit on Friday afternoons. I don't know about Tracey Arm, but it would not hurt to have that EC loaded just in case you are able to do what is needed. In Juneau, so plan on taking the tramway up the hill. There are a few up there and you have some great views. The closest cache to the top of the tramway is The Caretaker so you can start your search with that one. There are two traditional caches up there along with one EC. I did find this bookmark for caches near the ship terminal in Skagway. Quote Link to comment

+Team Catahoula
Won't be able to grab any in Seattle. We go right to the ship after landing, but will grab some in Juneau, Skagway and Victoria for sure. Quote Link to comment
+southeastalaska
There are about 25 caches within quick walking distance of the docks here in Juneau. 6 or 7 are mine and I would be happy to offer any assistance you might need. GC27JAM is on the dock and you can just go from there. Questions unrelated to caching gladly answered too. Feel free to contact me. Quote Link to comment
+Ladybug Kids
The GeocacheAlaska! Cache Information webpage has some helpful links here. The GeocacheAlaska! forums is also a place to get information and contact Alaskan cachers. Quote Link to comment
+Cache Gator
I'm glad I found this thread. We decided to take the Alaska cruise from Seattle next year in July 2012 and I want to start finding out what is available. We recently did a cruise to Bermuda and while others were spending hundreds of dollars on over priced shore excursions, wee had more fun caching the Island. Quote Link to comment
+Team Catahoula
Anyone going on R.C. Rhapsody of the Seas, Aug 12th? Quote Link to comment

Will be going into Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and down the Tracey Arm (looking forward to the Earthcache there!). Have also booked us into visiting the lilypad on Thursday 17th May as we're going to head down to Seattle for a day. Quote Link to comment
+wimseyguy
Bumping this thread. We're sailing from Vancouver to Seward and then onto Denali and Fairbanks after the Block Party next month. I'm really looking forward to my first cruise, first visit to AK, and third trip to Seattle. Quote Link to comment

+ECplus3
We're planning a one-way cruise from Vancouver to Seward and then spending a week with family in Anchorage. This will be June/July of 2014. I'll be checking the links that have been posted here already, but would like some feedback on spots to hit around Anchorage. Our ship will be Radiance of the Seas with Geocaching Cruise Adventures. Leaves June 27. Quote Link to comment
+Fiver1
I'll be cruising the Inside Passage from Seattle to Scagway and back with a stop in Victoria the second week of September. Looking forward to the trip. This will be my first trip to Alaska, but not my first cruise. I've looked at the caches in each port, and will attempt to get a couple at each stop. I will load the GPS just before my trip to make sure I have the latest info. I also plan to visit the Frog on Friday afternoon before my cruise. Thanks for posting this sticky. I'll put it on my watchlist and keep checking back before I go. Edited June 19, 2013 by Fiver1 Quote Link to comment
+QuiltinNana
We are coming to Alaska on a cruise June 28 - July 5th. We will be on the Norwegian Jewel and making stops at Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria, Canada. I've been mulling over the idea of renting a car at each port to catch some caches. Is this a good idea or not necessary? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Shirley Quote Link to comment

Thanks Shirley Renting a car will get you to more caches, but if you are just wanting to get one or two in each port, renting a car is not necessary. Quote Link to comment

Usually someone will try to put on an event for cruise ship folks at an arrival port if they can, and they know ahead of time. Quote Link to comment
