+dogtagz
So there is a cacher in my area that is notorious for encryption and such. Im trying desperately to find this cache and apparently others are also, as of this date the cache has been active for 3 months with zero finds and 91 attempts at coordinate verification. Please any help on this would be greatly appreciated CG24J32 Liberty Edited July 12, 2010 by dogtagz Quote Link to comment

+dogtagz
Have you tried contacting the owner for a hint? Yes, and he isn't helping. Which I understand since it has not been found yet. But i'm not a programmer guy and am looking for some insight on the code that may be in the description or picture. Quote Link to comment
+Ms.Scrabbler
Statue of Liberty is what I see. what that has to do with the cache I'm not sure, must be something in the area it relates to. Quote Link to comment

I also see the statue of liberty in the Stereogram Magic eye picture, so I went to GZ and looked around, nothing even resembles that in the area. No signs, labels, street names, buildings, nothing Quote Link to comment
+niraD
It is considered inappropriate to post spoilers or solutions for puzzle caches in the forums. It is better to use less public methods when working together to solve a puzzle. Quote Link to comment
+baloo&bd
It is inappropriate to request solutions for puzzle caches in the forums. More so if it has not been found yet and the owner does not want hints given. Which part of "No hints until a FTF." was unclear? Edited July 12, 2010 by baloo&bd Quote Link to comment

Is it in the guidelines not to ask for help? Quote Link to comment

Not at all. There is nothing in the guidelines preventing you from asking for help. But it is considered bad form to do so in these forums, especially when the hider has made it clear he doesn't want to give out hint until the first find. Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
Why not look for people around your area (or even from here) and ask if they want to work with you together on the puzzle, and then take your discussion off the forums? Quote Link to comment
+niraD
Its difficulty rating is 5 stars. The CO wrote "No hints until a FTF" in the cache description. It's supposed to be a challenge. If high-terrain caches can take months before the FTF, then high-difficulty caches can take months before the FTF. As others have said, go ahead and ask for help. Go ahead and collaborate with other puzzle solvers. Just don't do it in public forums that will remain searchable for the life of the cache. Quote Link to comment

+Markwell
You don't need to find every cache. If you can't solve it and the owner isn't giving hints, since the main page says this on this wonderful morning: There are 1,130,707 active cachesThat means there are 1,130,706 other caches to find. Move on and don't fuss about it. Put it on your ignore list. Quote Link to comment
+dogtagz
Thank you to everyone for helping here. I suppose it is bad form to ask for help here, but I was stuck. ignore lists aren't my cup of tea, so I suppose I will keep plugging away. If anyone is interested in working with me on this I will sign you on as co-ftf and send you any ftf prize that is in the cache. Email me dogtagz@hotmail.com if interested. Thank you all again.
