unregistered cache?

I found a Cache that is not listed on the website, the name of the cache and owner is listed on container. the owner is on website as owning 4 other caches but not this one that was placed 7years ago and has been found many times.

according to profile they only have traditional caches. I have tried to contact them to see if something was overlooked but have had no response yet.

What were the circumstances relating to how you came to find this cache?

Is it close to another cache? Its possible it didn't get approved, and the owner never picked it up.

 

Its also possible that its listed on another site, and not here.

Cache is located near another on a 1/2 mile trail on opposite side of loop. I stumbled upon it looking for one that was listed.

I would bet that it was never approved and the CO didn't retrieve the conatiner.

If you say that the cache had been found for several years, perhaps it was one that was archived because someone thought it was missing, but it actually wasn't; and you found it... another option.

Is it perhaps listed on one of the other cache listing sites?? Groundspeak isn't the only one, and 7 years ago there wouldn't have been as big a difference in numbers between sites as there is today.

I had checked that possibility, Don't believe it to be the same cache. Same general area, wrong owner though.

The owner is listed as Rich Becker here is another Cache that he owns (GC124A)

Nope, lol....that one is over 200 miles away...I'm thinking it may have been just to close to the other cache and was never approved....
